I genuinely don't get the point of doing this (besides as a billionaire's vanity project that keeps out the plebs) instead of investing in the cities that California already has. Why build a brand-new city (not just a single development, a full city) from the ground up in the middle of nowhere when you have perfectly good ones already to invest in and attempt to improve? San Francisco, San Jose, Oakland, Sacramento, they could all use density development. Unless this development is coupled with an airport (which isn't out of the question, because billionaires all own their own private jets), people that move here are going to be forced to drive to exit this place.

My biggest issue with this is traffic. I live inland, by the coast, just north of San Francisco. I used to be able to get to Solano County in 30 minutes. I used to be able to get to Sacramento in 1.5 hours. It now takes 1-2 hours to get to Solano county and 2-5 hours to get to Sacramento. It doesn't matter what time of day or what day of the week, the traffic on 80 is horrendous.
