Burger beans are a thing too. Brown the burger with some onion, add baked beans, a good squirt of ketcup and mustard. You're done! As a new bride I actually called Mom long distance ( it cost a lot back then!) to ask for the recipe. She was amused but I think she figured I was homesick. She was half right. I really needed cheap to make dinners. I think of her every time I make it.

So here's a Cowboy breakfast: barbecue some sausage, then mix with your beans. Top with hashbrowns (made to your liking) and some fried eggs! Biscuts on the side if you have a way to bake them. Homemade biscuits are best if you dip them in bacon grease before cooking.

I love beanie weenies! My mom used to get the basic cheap baked beans cut up weenies and mix in some ketchup and mustard for some extra flavor. Also loved SOS. Childhood nostalgia 😊

To me, this is a present to myself. I've always forgotten recipes I used to enjoy, then rediscovered to my joy. Also clothing when I change sizes. Shoes, especially seasonal ones. And toys when we do a reset to see which she most loved. I will also tuck cash ($5-20) into a jacket or purse so future self gets a small thrill. Dance of happiness moments.

Cold veggies with ranch dip is also a great pairing. I also like to make rainbow pasta with a pack of frozen veggies ( I love fiesta blend most) and then after it all boils I drain it, put it back in the pot or in a large bowl drizzle some olive oil, a bunch of Mrs. Dash, and then a bunch of parmesan and it's great got or cold. You can even add some chicken, again hot or cold, and it's still awesome.
