Informal vs Formal English Vocabulary Words | Part 6 - English Vocabulary Lesson - Improve Your English Vocabulary

In this video, we'll learn about informal and formal English! Formal English is used in professional or academic settings like business meetings or academic papers, following standard grammar rules and avoiding contractions, slang, and colloquial expressions. It maintains a polite, respectful, and professional tone, aiming to convey information objectively. In contrast, informal English is used in casual situations like conversations with friends or social media posts, featuring contractions, slang, and colloquial expressions. Understanding these differences is crucial for effective communication in various contexts.

Sometimes you have to understand your conversation too what goes where. Eg empty and vacant you can’t say your cup of coffee is vacant it will be your cup of coffee is empty. Isn’t it. You must tell where and why these words should be used.

I am a native Spanish speaker and I love the videos on this channel, I learn a lot from them and I am grateful for it, but whenever I watch a video about formal English I realize that formal English is nothing more than converting a Germanic language into a Latin language (English, as everyone will know, is a Germanic language, not Latin). The words superior, inferior, suficiente, vacante, amigable .. are all words from Latin and are the ones we use in Spanish, and very similar or even the same in Portuguese, Italian, French...). The truth is, if people of all these European nationalities had been taught formal English from the beginning, the English learning process would have been much easier for us and they would have saved us a lot of time and money. 😂😂😂😂
