Captain Dan - what is your experience with "seal" failure on pods and the subsequent costs of rebuilding ? I did see a pod ripped off of a azimut 55S a couple of years ago. The boat was on the hard. There were two pods and one was missing, it looked unusual. But the safety built in worked.

I've heard that IPS has better performance, but knowing me, I would hit a log or a bommie and that would be the end of those pods. This looks like it has a margin of safety.
