They're employing tools akin to how a magic wand functions. These tools have been mentally programmed with the effect of pyrokinesis. If they passes them to you and you attempt the same action, it will succeed. However, typically, any effects are nullified if it's taken away, unless the individual is a friend or family member and they agree for you to keep it. The object itself lacks these powers naturally; instead, it's been mentally programmed, much like a magic wand. There is only one source of power - the omnipresent akashic consciousness that also resides within every individual. Otherwise, there would be more than one God/Absolute.
