Godowsky had a wall of text for this study that essentially said “make sure the vibes are right on this one” and in 50 years, still, no one else has a performance like Bolet’s.

Man... I love how much respect Bolet had for composers. He's the only pianist I know who truly wanted to fulfill the composer's intentions. His Beethoven sounds like Beethoven. His Liszt sounds like Liszt. You get my point, the liszt goes on and on ;) Edit: There are a few more pianists who I find did this as well, but not to this degree.
