Weed is something unwanted. If you like it, then it isn't a weed

I selectively leave some, here or there. I'm not averse to the good exercise that comes with weeding throughout the season. It's such a favorite of bees that I couldn't possibly work to eradicate it, and it's utterly charming!

I’ve made the mistake of leaving a “pretty weed” alone only to regret it greatly a few years later. I’d advise getting rid of it if you can.

I planted borage in our veg garden and it does spread and is easy to pull when it first starts to come up. If this plant is as easy to remove I would pull it when young where you don’t want it and leave it where you like it. Those forget me not flowers from borage, brunnera are so pretty. So if it makes you smile and adds beauty to your garden while being easy to control - keep it!

I wouldn't let it set seed, it will take over.

I am feeling grumpy after spending many hours weeding this week, so I would definitely restrict it if you can. But it is a lovely plant as so many weeds are.

Alkanet roots are a great anti inflammatory and heals burn scars, another useful and great weed to have in the garden 🎉

A weed is indeed, just 'a plant in the wrong place' as my late grandmother said. Let it thrive, let it please the pollinators.. and let the pollinators please you and your other plants. 😊

Half and half? Pull a bunch. Leave a few..

I'd weed it after the spring once the pollinators have had their fill and other plants are now flowering.

If you like it, and it doesn't overwhelm the things that you've planted on purpose, then I say leave it, especially if pollinators love it. I think that's kind of the essence of what we mean when we talk about native plants 💚

I have wondered what this was for a long time, until you just enlightened me! They have huge swathes of it at Belsay Hall, Castle & Gardens. It always looks fabulous and I assumed it was a purposefully planted “proper” plant! I WANT IT!! I say just enjoy it 👍🏻

My dad has this , I spend most Saturdays in the summer trying to get rid of it, as you say it’s seeds snd grows everywhere, the roots are so so deep. But the flowers are lovely, I enjoy your channel.

I introduced it in my garden! I think it's beautiful! Hopefully I can keep it under control 😅

I would definitely continue with your efforts to eliminate it, or at least keep it strictly restricted! In a huge garden it could perhaps be allotted a space to do it's own thing, but it will end up dominating your middle-sized one!

I mean its such a beautiful blue. I'd try and keep it under control and allow it in some areas.

Let it grow in the awkward places, thin it out in others, like you do with other seedlings

I would pull it up, especially as it will still come up next year! The trouble with tolerating certain plants is that they can take over and overwhelm the plants you want to nurture and have spent time and money on! Thanks for the post !

I keep some but when they get too invasive or take over I pull some up. I do the same with many “weeds” allowing bees to enjoy some dandelions etc, but I have a “wildlife friendly” part of the garden where I let most things grow. If they get into my flower beds then they have to go x

I have an area on my property where I support "weeds" that are native. They can go where they like and I must say it is beautiful. (We have invasive plants that I immediately pull.) It is away from my herbaceous border where I am selective about plants. My advice is to share the property if it is native and wildlife adores it.
