Sounds great but if I buy a new guitar I want to put my own mark on it and let it show the love and time I put into making those marks. If it tells a story I want it to be my story.

That guitar sounds amazing. I’m ordering a green one because of that very guitar. Relic talk will get that engagement up!

Key words “looks like” it has a story to tell but in the case of a relic’d guitar it’s a fictional story and it looks beat up for no good reason in my opinion! One of the co-producers on my new CD has a handmade, luthier built guitar, and some dumbass who borrowed it, during a single show, took his beautiful one of a kind guitar and treated it so roughly that he damaged the top significantly! The guitar still sounds great, has a REAL story to tell, but looks abused due to this careless moron! Granted, if a guitar is relic’d naturally by the owner as a result of living life with it, those marks have some real meaning, a story of a life lived together making music!

I think a light relic can look cool if done right but that atkin is way over done. But... that thing sounds absolutely insane! And if i werent dirt poor i would be on that thing llike white on rice!

Allow your guitar to grow old gracefully, in time and with plenty of playing it will naturally wrinkle and bruise, it ages in time, as we humans do.

Nothing against relic guitars I Just personally like natural wear but that's why they make different finishes

I don't mind properly relaiced guitars but I don't know that I would buy one because of, or in spite of the relicing. I play fingerstyle and own several guitars with no pick guard (scratch plate)

Just, no. It's like when they started selling pre-ripped jeans in the 90s. Nobody cared what story your ripped up jeans had to tell.

So they "relic" the guitar and charge more for the guitar. I guess the guy is right when he says if it makes you want to play the guitar, I guess it's worth it. But..not for me. I think it sucks in gullible buyers and it's selling false mojo...

i can't stand artificial wear on guitars. buy one and wear it out.
