It’s not just about the belly and PF:) 360 expansion of the ribs and back body expansion- that’s what’s really beneficial. In order to promote all those benefits you’ve mentioned - you need to expand ribs laterally, ribs in the back and get the air all arounf the core canister. If you’re only focusing on belly breathing, you’re not allowing your diaphragm to fully contract and PF to relax, and promoting more of the laxity of the front core, instead of focusing more on the tighter areas that are so common during pregnancy and postpartum - the rib cage flare and the back body tightness. Hope this makes sense!

Is this why it feels “weird” to breathe postpartum? If that makes sense. I just had my baby 4 days ago and when I stand up I feel like my diaphragm doesn’t expand properly with each breath.
