As an added thing to think about, Aries intended to use Kratos as a weapon to conquer Olympus. Him providing his champion with is just one more edge she can give his finest warrior.

Athena said that Zeus IS Olympus, and since Chaos is an entity older than the universe itself, it’s pretty self explanatory that Olympian magic is post-Zeus. So even with Olympus dead it only destroyed most of the stuff that was created after Zeus’s rule, which means the blades of chaos likely can never be destroyed or disenchanted. That’s just my estimate.

It's also a good explanation for why they still work. Kratos at one point says that the reason he doesn't have any of his other weapons is because the magic died with the land they came from. So since the blades of chaos function on primordial fire, they'd be fine

I find it ironic that Helios having access to one of the most powerful sources in the god of our universe constantly became everyone’s bitch

From what I remember in greek mythos primordial fire is the fire that burns across Tartarus with no source. It is coveted by the greek gods since one it cannot be put out and two any metal the touchs the flames will be instantly purified of all impurities. Hepheastus uses it to create the weapons armor and tools of the gods since the primordial fire is able to purify any metal that comes into to contact with it.

Maybe its the same force that caused the tear, or what odin was looking for beyond the gods. This is a really cool way to continue the series and take it beyond just regional mythologies

In the Norse world, primordial energy is hard to come around. But with the free for all match that ended with the creation of the Greek world, primordial energy is quite abundant. Quite hilarious to think Ares just casually commissioned what could be the most overpowered weapon in existence just for his mortal (would be) champion to use The thing about the Blade of Olympus however, it is made to be like a vessel to contain unimaginable amount of power. So i'd argue that the Blade is far more powerful than the Blades of Chaos, like imagine depositing both godly and primordial powers in that thing. It could be realm shattering

So where does Prometheus stand in all this

It think it’s because the primordial goddess of chaos is technically also the goddess of life itself and since there is no known physical way to end a primordial the blades of chaos will always draw from its own personal power source

And that's probably why he's able to use them throughout time and that they cannot die that that's the only weapon that cannot die and the fact that I like the idea also that eventually craves is going to eventually melt them down into the syfe

Kaptain Kuba, after some words with the "cabbage of Olympus" i have come to the decision that the blackish smoke in the loading screens of god of war 4 and 5 represents the evils released from pandoras box in greece and as in ragnarok it gets whiter, representing athenas hope she put in the box

It's also powered by Kratos' rage. We've seen many times that Kratos' rage is directly correlated to how hot said fire burns and getting the actually visual of Kratos' fiery rage in Spartan Rage kind of hints that he can somehow channel primordial fire.
