I am in my sixties still working on losing weight, getting stronger and more flexible. Thank you for your help in getting more flexible. You are doing good work. Cheers!

Iā€™m 61, started yoga 2 years ago after decades of being a distance runner. I always stretched before and after runs. I had no idea how tight I was till I started yoga. I thought, thereā€™s no way I can do that. Today, I can do a lot and canā€™t wait to see what Iā€™ll be able to do when Iā€™m 65.

You are so rightā€¼ļø People immediately think of ā€œpretzelā€ poses when you offer yoga to them and respond with I could never twist my body like thatā€¦ Iā€™m too (old, fat, stiff, out of shape etc. etc etc.) All we can do is begin where we are and work consistently to make improvements. Thank you for patterning this for your students. I know you will be doing fabulous splits when you reach 60ā€¼ļøšŸ˜Ž

Thanks for the honest determination. No excuses, personal commitment. Your self reliance and accepting responsibility for yourself. Is admirable. Love the classes thanks

I really like that you admit things like this. I get that too where my family assumes that I am just naturally flexible and I do yoga at home just to show off. With my heart condition exercise is really hard for me and Iā€™m so thankful I found your yoga classes and a way that I can stay healthy thatā€™s not dangerous for me. šŸ„°

Well said, Kate! I'm hyper flexible, but let me tell you that doesn't necessarily make movements easier. I still have to work every day. Especially as I get older... I want to be grateful to move in my body every day!šŸ˜ā¤

52 year old that started 20 years ago after returning to swimming 23 years ago. It is a Purchase issue: [there is more than one definition of purchase that applies] -Buy in -hold on a position to apply and or gain a power advantage

"Try this when you're".. blah blah blah.. Some people just have to be the victim in their own personal drama series. You are awesome!!

Thanks for sharing! I've often wondered about how "naturally" flexible you are since your limbs look so long. Mine are too and I can barely touch my toes after doing yoga for years lol

People will always be having excuses for their sedentary "lifestyle"... For them, it's a mental and physical struggle to get convinced to start physical activity when they don't have even the tiniest idea about the benefits they will have... they have never ever felt this in their whole lives.... I'm an old calisthenics athlete (50) and have been doing it over 4 decades.... stronger, more muscular and even looking a lot younger than most people in their 20s.... yoga and strech/mobility is part of my training and I definitely understand your situation.. I belive most of the sedentary guys think that you are even in pain or carrying a burden/hardship by doing all these exercises and definitely don't understand how happy you are and having great fun by doing yoga and embracing all the benefits it gives to your body and soul...

while I generally agree, there is one thing to remember. getting flexible means tendons and musles have to grow, not thicker, but longer. but they have to grow. If someone starts to train flexibility with a bological age of 60, that pocess of growing is much much much much slower. Of course everybody has to train. Older folks like 60y stating the journey just will likely not arrive at a middle split untl they are 100 :)))

I had the same mindset before I started yoga. I've always intrigued with doing yoga and wanted to try because of the mental and physical benefits of it, but I was afraid and have this thing that I'm not flexible to do the postures. I put aside all my fears/worries, I started since 2012 and love it. I may not go every single day,.but it is part of me now, my body and mind longs for it. Namaste.
