One argument I sometimes hear against using hollow points is the idea that if the DA decides to prosecute after a defensive shooting, they'll use that against you. I would counter that any prosecutor actually going after someone for a self-defense shooting is going to impeach every single choice you made. Yeah, they'll go after you for using JHPs. And uf you did use FMJs, they'll flip the script and say those are more likely to penetrate police body armor and JHPs are what you're supposed to use for self defense. They'll make things up to go after the type of gun you used, the optic or lack of optic, the use or non-use of a weapon mounted light. If you try to render aid after shooting someone, well you must not have found them that threatening. If you don't try to render aid you're obviously a psychopath.
There is no escaping the nonsense, aside from simply not living in a jurisdiction hostile to self-defense in the first place.

Would love a video of different types of "gimmick" ammo. A worrying amount of people buy stuff like "RIP" rounds for personal carry and I would love to see a video that goes more in-depth on the subject. Those oddly shaped projectiles always make me question their reliability.
Any thought on doing something like that? I feel it would be an interesting point of discussion, not to mention a cool video.

Lucky Gunner is a good one. But I would be irresponsibly negligent if I did not mention Paul Harrell's channel. He has some excellent presentations on ammo selection on a lot of defensive calibers. His "meat targets" are an elegant analogy for performance on target. It's amazing how some high priced defensive rounds failed to perform on a consistent basis. Always test your carry ammo!
