True story: I finally admitted I would consider myself a runner last year.

I grew up hating running.

I remember going for a run with some friends in middle school, gassing out in the first few minutes and being totally embarrassed.

I would run Spartan races in college but still never considered myself a runner.

Fast forward to a few years back, danaeolivia invited me on a crazy hike and wanted to run most of it.

I had a blast.

Then she invited me on another one.

And another.

And before you knew it, this psycho got me into the running game.

I’m not a top runner and weights will always be my priority, but dang does it feel good to be able to run and to call myself a runner.

Remember: You can let the stories you tell yourself about who you are and what you’re capable of define you, or you can rewrite them and become whoever you want to be.
