I understand being a perfectionist, I do that too both in YouTube, school, and tasks in general. It can be painful at times, but it can feel rewarding to purposefully post things with minor mistakes to get out of your comfort zone.

I just treat short content like normal youtube videos to me, just treated differently from youtube. many of my videos become shorts bc youtube format and I can't change it and so i have to live with it.
since 2010 youtube has been always attention grabbing or "authentic" and blending these 2 in doesn’t work with everyone. so it just look like they are different categories to outsiders, when they aren't. but it's understandable bc youtube want them to become different categories.
in short: i don't care. i might not always watch them and miss them bc i can't add it to my watch later playlist. but that's pretty much is. 🤷♂

The beauty of shorts is they ARE more real! A little messy and raw - but charming and addicting precisely because we’re all messy and raw!
We don’t fall in love with perfect controlled polish, we fall head over heels for flaws and quirks and silly weirdnesses because that’s who we all are!
The truth is, imperfect IS perfect! It’s perfectly relatable, perfectly honest and endearing.
Redefine your idea of perfect to include ALL that you are. Who cares what anyone else thinks?! 😉

I think both long and short form vids have their appeal. I watch both every day and get different things out of them. Long form feels more sustainable for my brain though… too much short stuff leaves me feeling pretty fried 🤪 I can already tell you have what it takes to rock both, so I say have fun exploring

To me, it is never addictive. I simply decide to watch or not to watch. At the end of the day, it is one’s own decision.

I don't like making a video specifically to be a "short" but, sometimes, my videos are just not long enough to register as "long form" and that's fine, because everything i wanted in the video is there,
And I'm okay with that.

I'm trying so hard to not be addicted, cus it happened to me many times that I scrolled through them for an hour. Recently I found an app that can hide all shorts (on desktop).
I see this one cus I have turned on notifications for your channel :)

As long as whoever’s making the short isn’t using annoying manipulative tactics to bring their view count up and get likes, like making people watch a short multiple times just so we can read some text that’s there for 0.1 second before it disappears, then I don’t mind them. Unfortunately most of them do use those annoying tricks. This short was just fine though.
