As a father, I teach my kids to not care for name brands unless it's something you truly like for the style and comfort. I also teach them how to repurpose anything they can and appreciate everything they receive. Kids grow way too quick out of clothes, and destroy that clothes in the process. If you can find you some good quality hand me downs, that you're receiving for the free, don't complain. It's hard enough out here as a parent.

That’s actually so sad. U can tell he put in effort to get that kid some nice clothes. Don’t matter if they were handed down. My son’s main outfits from newborn-4 months were given to me from family and I was grateful, free, they were nice, and saved me money from buying so many outfits for a few months

Kids grow out of clothes so damn fast. I consider myself to be doing okay financially and we get a good portion of my son’s clothes from a second hand store. There’s nothing wrong with that. When he’s older and not growing so quickly I’ll get from someplace else. But for now, this is just fine. Props to that man for trying.
