Spice up those dull drums with this trick!

If you’re into 80’s music, this is a must-try for you:

Route your snare to an aux bus.

Apply a reverb with a decently long decay time on the bus, followed by a noise gate.

Connect your sidechain to the snare bus, so the gate responds to each snare hit.

Adjust the release, attack, and hold times accordingly. Fine-tune with the threshold to achieve your desired effect.
