When I was in the marines, I went through a month long CQB course called Advanced Urban Combat, and then my unit continued to train in CQB and MOUT (Military Operations in Urban Terrain) long afterwards too and we got very proficient on the fireteam, squad, and platoon level. However, the first thing on day one of the course, the instructors taught us that CQB has an 85% fatality rate. So we trained vigorously to get good at it. But thereā€™s no perfect way to do it, and thereā€™s always going to be weaknesses and blind spots. If you have zero training and experience, being a sniper/guerrilla fighter from long distance first and getting some training and experience down would be my recommendation before you attempt any CQBā€™ing in the real world. Iā€™m a police officer now and I still use some of CQB skills for building searches and clearing to this day, and itā€™s always messier and sloppier in really life than training too. Iā€™m not an expert, but I have some experience. Thatā€™s my two cents.

He speaks truth, the ability for an indigenous individual to snipe, even at medium ranges of 250 yards, would have a profound effect on the morale and movement of an occupying force.

CQB without grenades and flashbangs sound like a match made in hell. Im going nowhere near that scenario if at all possible.

This is the philosophy I have had since getting out of the Marines and was the reason the first gun I built up was a Mk 12 as an SPR.

In a Guerilla war you need all different style of people. People who will over watch and snipe and people who do ambushed and CQC

If someone breaks in your house you want a CQB weapon. But in the apocalypse youā€™d want a longer range gun

Itā€™s all about where you will be operating. It also helps to have a balanced knowledge of both sniper/CQB.

The "Long Range Shooting Handbook" by Ryan Cleckner a good read for a lot of general knowledge.

I would recommend training both, you never know when you would need cqb, remember better to be a warrior in a garden than a gardener in a war

CQB for civilians sounds like a really bad day.

Politicians and other "VIP"s don't like citizens capable of hitting stuff at long ranges, it makes security planning for them very expensive and a nightmare, just saying...

A perfect team consists of the, Strategist, The Leader, The Expert Shooter, And a Survivalist. Each one plays an incredibly vital role in a team situation.
