Did you the tradition of mounting from the left was adapted because a soldiers sword sheath was secured at the left hip. This meant the could mount without their sword interfering with getting on.

I have the exact same problem with my own horse. He bends far to much to the left and struggle to bend to the right excalty like Winne does. It makes so much sense what Pammy had to say about it. My instructor makes me ride with a bit of right bend when going left to help straighten up this body and to ride slight shoulder fore when going right to help with the right bend.
