Emergency Surgery for Ectopic Rupture - I Lost a Fallopian Tube | #infertility | Let's Talk IBD

My ectopic pregnancy ruptured leading to emergency surgery to remove my right fallopian tube - a salpingectomy. The symptoms I had didn't quite fall in line with the typical, so this surgery came as a shock! Ectopics are nothing to mess with.

Hi, I'm Maggie and I have Crohn's disease. I am thrilled to be here sharing my personal experiences with Inflammatory Bowel Disease as well as living with an ostomy. I'm proud to share a little bit from a clinical experience as well, having worked as a GI pediatric nurse and ostomy telehealth nurse. I am so glad you are here. ♥ #ibd #crohnsdisease #ostomy

The incision in your lower abdomen is probably very different than what you are use to. Find a pillow that you can use to splint your incision and make it your new best friend. Splint before you sneeze, before you laugh, before you raise your voice, before you pee, basically before you do anything that may use your tummy muscles-be safe and splint before anything that may or may not stretch your tummy. I had two c-sections, behave yourself and you will feel better soon. You are an amazing woman. You give of yourself in situations when most women would rather curl up in a ball and cry. You think of educating us and helping many, many people that you will never know. Thank you, now get some rest.

L❤ve you girl! I too had a ruptured etopic pregnancy 7weeks along. That’s a pain I wouldn’t wish upon anyone. That happened at 20 yrs old and one tube and 6 yrs later I found out I was expecting. Hang in there the good part is just ahead.

The fact that you have been thru so much and with such grace is inspiring. Not sure I could do it, but I try to always keep my sense of humor and remember something the Dalai Lama said "pain is inevitable, suffering is optional". In 2017 I was hospitalized four times with what turned out to be undiagnosed C dif and ischemic colitis. This is on top of UC and multiple other autoimmune issues. My mom's support, my humor and a Gastro PA that faught for me was what got me thru. Glad you have loving support too. 😊
