I'm 72 and have a urostomy. I enjoy your videos. I'm a bladder cancer survivor as of May 4, 2023. I've had my stoma since May, 2022.

I do not have your condition. Mine is a chronic genetic immunological thing. I once had a doctor pat my hand and tell me I had a good attitude for my condition. 😂 But what I love is your straightforward approach. It is what it is and life is still good.

A red solo cup over your stoma helps to catch discharge. And I would use a hair dryer to dry the area around my stoma

Did you know that in Japan they have ostomy sinks or toilets to clean your bags? I thought that was quite interesting and may be a country worth visiting? Thx for sharing.

I have had an ileostomy and colostomy bag two separate times, the 1st in 2014 after a major surgery for bowel resection because a foot of my intestine had gotten so bad from Crohn’s flares and being untreated that I couldn’t hold anything down except water, I went 215 to 115 in about 2 weeks- I had the ileostomy for 4 months and honestly it was the best thing ever! I only had a couple small blow outs, my second stoma was in 2018 was after a botched gall bladder removal and leaking intestine from a resection and I was in way worse shape that time, almost died 4 times and actually was flatlined for a 90 seconds from a punctured lung and the leaking gut causing major sepsis- I had that colostomy for close to 2 years I had the reversal right at the start of the pandemic. May I ask is yours permanent? I just found your page and subscribed and I’m hooked!! Thank you

My Mother had colorectal cancer, so she end up with a permanent colostomy…. It took her a year or so to accept it and manage her ostomy, and she’s a retired OR nurse…. I can’t imagine the strength you had to go with what you have been thru… you are a warrior. She’ll be happy to see your videos
