Britain should give back the jewels but I don't think that will happen. With that being said, what's to stop Ghana from just keeping the 'loaned' jewels and not giving them back once the 'loan' is up? How can Britain really argue about that? How could we possibly say "Ghana needs to give us back the jewels our ancestors stole from them" with a straight face? I'm British so this isn't British hate, it's just the right thing to do. We need to give Ghana back their crown jewels, give India back their Koh-i-noor, give Greece back their statues and give every other country our ancestors have stolen from back their heirlooms, artefacts and general histories. "Oh but we're white and we speak English so obviously these pieces are safer in Britain." It isn't our place to say someone else's things are safer with us. Your TV might be safer with me but it doesn't give me the right to 'protect' it.
