That's literally the same railroad crossing that led to the 2005 Metrolink train crash in Glendale CA. In January 2005, a suicidal man named Juan Alvarez parked his car at the Chevy Chase Drive railroad crossing, causing Metrolink train 100 led by cab car 625 to crash it. The train carrying the crashed car then crashed into a passing Union Pacific freight train. Finally, the leading cab car jackknifed into another passing Metrolink train (Metrolink train 901), knocking down coach 148 and cab car 623. Along with cab car 625 severely damaged on both ends, coach 133 was also severely damaged in the crash. The train crash site took place near the Los Feliz Blvd underpass bridge and the Atwater Village Costco store.
