A weapon light is a must have, a few years ago l got into a car chase late at night in South East Texas, nothing but trailer parks and farm land. The chase lasted less than ten minutes and we came to a stop on a dead end road of some trailer park with no street lights, my patrol car was about ten yards behind the suspect's car. I exited my patrol vehicle with my Glock 17, l carry a Streamlight 1HL on my Glock. I conducted a felony stop alone, the driver exited his car holding a silver metal object with his right hand, my trigger was pressed to the wall and my front sight was center mass, because of my weapon light, l saw the silver metal object was a soda can. He came real close to be DRT, he was taken into custody for evading and possession of meth.

the second i shined my turbo at the neighbors barn 250 yds away, i was glad i made the upgrade. i could easily PID with it at 100+ yds.
