I’m Changing How I Detangle My Hip-Length Hair

♥️ I have been undergoing a major evolution in my all natural hair growth promoting routine. Namely, to do with the use of brushes and combs. I used to think these things were anathema (for me and my hair), and now that I have acquired the right kind of tools and techniques I am falling in love with brushes and combs!

🌸This clip was taken a bit earlier in my "evolution" before my newest hair care tools (ie some special wooden combs and a wooden brush) had arrived. I still love boar bristle brushes as well! But the principle is the same: using your natural sebum as a hair styling product by distributing it down your hair, and gently brushing or combing the scalp to keep it clean, vital, and free from buildup. By the way, I have a video coming soon to demonstrate this technique on both my curly dark hair as well as my sister in law's straight, oil prone blond hair! Stay tuned.

I am 41 and am pregnant with our last baby. I found out I was pregnant and had a mental break down and chopped my hair off at the shoulders. Before this my hair was down past my butt and when I was Mennonite I had floor length hair. I never wash it during the week growing up and I am still the same way. Since I cut my hair it's grown about 3 inches in 6 months. Keep your hair long, if you can, it makes us look more beautiful ❤️

I’ve been using beef tallow too and braiding it straight ontop of my head upside down and pinning it in a halo to relieve all the pressure off the follicles to give my scalp a break- loving how detangled it’s been because of this hairstyle! The weight of it at this point IS a bit of a burden, what other hairstyles has everyone been loving?

Dr ken Berry recently did a video on using beef tallow as a skill cream. I found Bumblebee Apothecary on YT. She shows how she does it but also sells it.

During your longer video, I cannot recall which one it is specifically, but I remember how you were teaching how to dangle with a wide tooth comb by using short quick bursts and strokes to get the tangles out of your hair and I really like that method and I’m trying that myself myself

Hello!! I wish I had beautiful think hair likes yours! Mine is finer. I’ve been trying a lot- so far I like a wooden bristle brush the boat brush weighted my hair down and it looked less Lifeless! Also, sometimes the oily shampoo like biotin or collagen weight my hair down too. I used an advocado coconut Pantene the other day lol( and I don’t like mainstream products) but my hair looks so nice now! lol it looks fuller and healthier. I guess I’m not sure if these routines would work on “finer” or “ not as full think stranded hair”. None the less I will still be trying raw art hair tonics and more. And I am experiencing with neem oil for my hair. I like you am on a journey to discover how my fine hair can thinken( by overall hair scalp health that is I know I can’t make my strands thicker or more course) and less weak or fragile. So I can grown to my tail bone. I have been following you and so far I plan to try the hair hero scalp massager and many Rosemary tonics. And PH balancing scalp formulas. But I’m not sure how to go about it in measurements with my finer hair or how to off set the way these tools can weigh down my finer stranded hair.

So like when I braid my hair it is just so thin and doesn’t really look good! I would like to just throw in a bun, but it’s so thin and slippery lol so I think I plan to add a silk scarf to my hair to wrap in a bun. My question is, is it my hair health or genetics? Weren’t thier women with fine hair back in the day? What did they do? The same thing? Was your hair always this think when in braids?
