That pronunciation of tráthnóna killed me. Us native speakers say "trá-noo-na", well in Connacht and Mumhan at least. Sa is also pronounced suh, again in Connacht and Mumhan. Don't ask about Dún na nGall pronunciation, they scare me.

In Finnish we also have a synonym for ilta: ehtoo. From that comes the word ehtoollinen which originally meant supper but through the Christian legend of the last supper, "viimeinen ehtoollinen" in Finnish, has come to mean exclusively the Christian eucharist. So if a Finn mentions having taken part in ehtoollinen it has nothing to do with evening or supper, they have simply taken part in the eucharist.

As a Finn, I've never met anyone named ilta. I'd be surprised to hear it used as a name, but I wouldn't consider it out of the realm of possibility. However, Iita (double i in the beginning) is pretty common. Are you maybe getting these two mixed up?
