Small towns, they know everyone and anyone who tries to damage the store people depend on are going to get dragged to their mommas. The anonymity of the city interferes with accountability.

It's so real. I moved out to the country and I repeatedly refer to our dollar tree as "the bougie dollar tree".

So John Oliver did a segment on Dollar stores and why they are so often disaster zones. Long story short it's because they're often exceedingly under staffed. The Dollar Tree in the sticks is likely less busy and so the staff actually has time to do what needs to be done whereas the one in the city can't keep up.

Used to work at Dollar Tree. It's 40% dependent on the customers and 60% dependent on the management. Either way, nobody in any of the stores gets paid enough to care. The managers that keep their store clean and organized are saints.

Small town kids here. Went to a city grocery store recently and was HORRIFIED at how gross and messy it was. This was an expensive organic veggie store too. Dirty, disorganized, grumpy staff. Really surprised me and I asked my friend about it. They said “yeah, it’s in the city, they’re all like this” and I was so happy to drive back home and shop my local place that’s clean and full and the staff don’t ooze despair out of their every pore.

I have 4 dollar trees within 20 minutes of me, and I absolutely go to a specific one because it’s cleanest and most well stocked! This is completely real!

Same here. Rural and small town Family Dollar, Dollar General, and Dollar Tree are always clean and staff is really nice.

Only way you can do that is to find one that hardly no one goes to. Any city dollartree isn't going to cut it. My town has 2, and the one in a hard to reach/see spot is always cleaner. But the more popular it gets, the harder it is to keep the store looking nice

Lol, as someone who lives in "the city" I can confirm that certain ones are trashed out while others are nice, clean and have good workers and customers. Plus, as someone who knows multiple people who have or do work at a Dollar Tree, they are almost always understaffed and overworked which leads to multiple problems. Luckily the ones I use are clean, orderly and easily shopped at.

Some of the best dollars trees kept me alive in the Appalachian mountains. I used to be a whole foods girl, but them dollar trees are little slices of heaven out there

City dollar trees can sometimes look like the customers just had a knock down fight over the merchandise

Girl.......... I was the night manager at our local Dollar store. No matter what I did to help make that store better we were always understaffed and underpaid. And yes the building was falling apart. A piece of the drop-down ceiling actually fell during one of the shifts I was on.... And it is the local manager's fault. Unless it's like family run or independent. They are all run by corporate and one person overseas like the entire state

a good dollar tree has enough to survive off of in a pinch, is a great outing for the kids to look through their trinkets, and also has the good drinks and crackers.

It's like that with Dollar General and Family Dollar, too. The further into the stix you go, the nicer they are.

Gwenna, the most Oklahoma thing you could ever say would be," You're doing Dollar Tree wrong..." to another customer. 😂

I just went to a Dollar Tree I discovered in the suburbs, and it was amazing. They actually had all the things the influencers say they have, and it was clean and organized! I bought so much. It's now my go-to Dollar Tree, and I'm considering writing the company about how well the employees take care of it.

I do love me some dollar tree. I've been known to hit up multiple along a road trip. I found one once that was huge, clean, and had all the mythical stuff that never makes it to my local dollar tree. If it wasn't 4 hours away I'd go there every week
