What about peer review? You'd think that gender studies being done in a proper scientific context would have peer review and only focus on empirically measurable data. Yeah, the researchers can put forward their opinions in the discussion section of the paper but it will be just as useless as the discussion section in a STEM paper.

i don't think it's this easy to say that gender studies is definitively not a science because so much of it relies on data/stats/experiments, but the fact that much of it also relies on theories does make it less verifiable than other scientific fields. many people just refer to gender studies and other social sciences as soft sciences because they lean into the humanities more than physical sciences. even then, whether or not social sciences are a science has been debated for yeeeears so idk if it can be answered with a simple yes or no lol

Speaking a foreign language can be faked, just not to someone who speaks it. Playing instruments has been faked tens of thousands of times. Watch Top Of The Pops. Jiu-Jitsu can absolutely be faked. I'm on-side with Boghossian but this is a bad way to represent a good point.
