I had an abscess from a bad dentist. He did a hole for a root canal and didn't fix it properly after my crown was fitted. Stuff got in there and my whole entire face ended up swollen even up to the start of my brain.
I had to go to emergency room and was told after that if I had fallen asleep I might of actually died!!
Turns out my dentist had failed to attend refresher training for over 5 years and somehow was still allowed to practice.... This was an NHS dentist also.

as a UK dentist its always v interesting hearing how americans treat wisdom teeth. we QUITE LITERALLY advise leave it in the bone UNLESS it causes issues.

Absolutely 💯 agree with you, Bentist. Had mine removed during pregnancy (very young Momma). I make sure all my children get theirs removed when they complain about mouth/ jaw pain

My dad just had an extremely painful cracked tooth and root canal. The whole side of his face got swollen and the endodontist said it was normal and prescribed steroids.
Flash forward one week and he had to have the abscess surgically drained with a drain tube inserted for a week.
He had to visit 2 ERs to be taken seriously.
It’s like medical professionals don’t want to do their job.

I have all my wisdom teeth, they may be a little crooked and a little impacted but I brush them regularly (probably even better than my other teeth lol) and the only “pain” I had was when they were cutting the gum to come in. I’m not doing surgery unless they start to rot because they are not causing any problems.

Thats not a guarantee for everyone. I've never ever had any issues with my wisdom teeth; my ortho suggested I get them removed claiming its a matter of time before they rot. Thank goodness I didn't, never had any pain or issues from them. Keep your wisdom teeth in your face unless you have pain. Its not necessary to remove them, these dentists just want the extra money claiming you don't even need them.

hello! i can relate to this cuz i had the same exact problem which caused me alot of pain , i almost got jaw surgery bc of it then a guy we know had a clinic we went to for some pain killers when he said he could just poke it with 5 clean needles , they couldnt put all 5 in the (not at the same time) cuz i was in lots of pain and i couldnt take it but thankfully they put a few needles and poked it which all that nastiness came out, the next night i went to him again and he said he could press it with his fingers and he did. More came out , then my dentist looked at it saying it doesnt need surgery and i got my teeth removed the one that caused almost of this , thankfully am better now alhamdulillah theres still a mark on the bottom of my jawline but my dentist said it’ll go away at some point.

That happened to my friend after removing 3 wisdom teeth. Her dentist/dental surgeon was telling her that everything is ok and theres no need to worry. But she asked other dentists and she was then hospitalised and had to get a jaw surgery. Also ENTIRE hospital were examining her mouth because they couldn't understand how did this happen. They all came to conclusion that it was the fault of the dental surgeon who removed her wisdom teeth. I think she then sued him. She also now has a scar along her jaw line

Crazy to remove a wisdom tooth before you get a problem. A friend permanently lost her feeling in half her face after wisdom tooth removal. I decided to remove the tooth furthest in instead of getting a root canal. After that my wisdom tooth popped up and moved to that tooth place 👍🏻
