I know I'm probably the only person that dislikes this, but I don't appreciate the use of the word "journey" to describe my cancer experience. I think of a journey as a something fun to be looked forward to. That's not what cancer is. I refer to what I'm going through as an experience. It's my experience of this new way of living and new way of relating to others. But there's nothing fun about it, which I think a journey is. So, while I know it's universally used (even overused), I don't use it and don't like it when others do.
