Dad died today.
1:20 am.
A five day battle with brain cancer.
I played this song for hours on a $49 dollar acoustic guitar beside his death bed.
He couldn't talk but I know he could hear.
It was the last song he ever heard,
and it was an honor to play it for you.
I'll miss you forever dad.
Edit: Your comments saved my life. Thank you.

When my brother died of leukemic cancer, he was wearing his headphones with his eyes closed and a smile on his face, this song was ringing on his phone. Whenever it sounds or I listen to it again, it reminds me of that scene and I wonder "If everything could ever be this real forever
If anything could ever be this good again". Miss you Chris You have no idea how much i miss you

Hello
I've waited here for you
Everlong
Tonight, I throw myself into
And out of the red
Out of her head, she sang
Come down and waste away with me
Down with me
Slow, how you wanted it to be
I'm over my head
Out of her head, she sang
And I wonder
When I sing along with you
If everything could ever be this real forever
If anything could ever be this good again
The only thing I'll ever ask of you
You've got to promise not to stop when I say when
She sang
Breathe out
So I can breathe you in
Hold you in
And now
I know you've always been
Out of your head
Out of my head, I sang
And I wonder
When I sing along with you
If everything could ever feel this real forever
If anything could ever be this good again
The only thing I'll ever ask of you
You've got to promise not to stop when I say when
She sang
And I wonder
If everything could ever feel this real forever
If anything could ever be this good again
The only thing I'll ever ask of you
You've got to promise not to stop when I say when

When this came out I was homeless, on drugs, and then jail. I now have a house, job, and husband. This song and âClover Cage - In the Momentâ are the two songs that helped get rid of my depression. I just want to send love to everyone and I want everyone to know things will get better. We are in this together..I love you â¤ď¸đ

My son told me the other day that he "found this new really cool song."
I thought I heard this a very long ago when I was his age. He's 16 now and we don't always see eye to eye anymore.
But this song made us the same age, for that moment.
We both understood this song is new. And will never get old.

I was 14 years old the first time I listened to this song. At first I never paid too much attention to the lyrics and their meaning. Two months ago I met a girl and we started to forge a very nice bond. I'm not afraid to admit that I started to have feelings for her. Today she told me that she will leave the town next week to finish her studies, and that she will probably not return until next year. I'm happy for her, but I can't help being a little sad. And that was the moment I remembered this song, specifically "If everything could ever feel this real forever, if everything could ever be this good again". 11 years later, I'm finally able to give a deeper and more personal meaning to this song. And this is the story about why I'm here tonight. If you took the time to read this, thank you, it's late at night and right now this is the only way I can vent.

There's something about that intro that just pumps you up no matter how many times you hear it...
