Michael Fernie. 29 Jun 2016. Share on: Most normal people will follow the standard process of shifting gear: lift off the throttle, clutch down, change ratio, clutch up, throttle on. Then you get

In short, no lift shifting is an advanced driving technique that allows you to upshift the gears on a manual car without lifting your foot off the gas pedal. It's also known as flat foot shifting and power shifting. The name "flat foot" will become clear as we get into how it works. Instead of the usual method of releasing the gas pedal

Our first iteration of COBB Custom Features for the 2022+ WRX consists of Launch Control and Flat Foot Shifting for Manual Transmission cars. In order to utilize these features, you simply need up-to-date Accessport firmware and a map file saved in the newest version of Accesstuner Pro. For those using COBB Off The Shelf Maps, that simply means
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Powershifting
Powershifting. Powershifting, also known as full-throttle shifting or flat-shifting, is a method of gear shifting used with manual transmissions to reduce the time where the driving wheels are not powered. Unlike during a normal gearchange, in a powershift the driver does not let off the accelerator. The clutch is briefly depressed while the

flat foot shifting can actually be EASIER on the tranny than traditional lift shifting. the key is in properly setting your FFS rpm point. once done, you will achieve perfect rpm drops during every shift. in turn that creates much less shock load on the drivetrain once you do let out the clutch. i make it a point to flat foot shift at least once a day, generally across the 2-3 shift while

Flat Foot Shifting is a Cobb access port feature for the Focus RS. Basically keep the accelerator pedal floored while pressing clutch and shifting then releasing clutch. always keeping right foot floored. each shift pops the car forward and keeps the turbo boost maxed Reply reply

Flat-foot Shifting allows you to keep your foot flat on the accelerator while changing gears, to minimise your gear change time and keep engine speed and torque up for when the next gear is engaged. In my case it is part of the Race Rom suite from Ecutek and works very well - it will however increase clutch wear. Like.

With flat-foot shifting, you keep the throttle plate open during shifts, meaning the boosted air keeps flowing through the engine and the turbo speed stays up. While less intense than anti-lag, this can put incredible stress on your clutch, transmission, and driveline in general. A way to mitigate this stress and improve reliability is to get a

Cobb has been one of the most gentle flatfoot shifting abilities that I've experienced. Ecutek ffs on the other hand, is super aggressive and holds the rpms wherever you shift which is a whole new world of ffs compared to cobb. 131K subscribers in the WRX community. /r/WRX is a place for Subaru fanatics to show off their rides, discuss

Flat foot shifting done properly doesn't cause any adverse engine issues. It does put heavy shock loads on the drive train. If FFS is "attempted" by people who don't know how to do it quickly enough to prevent over-rev, it will result in the engine hitting the rev limiter for sure, but as for operating in some mystical load cells is bunk.
