Got my 5600x open box and my x570m pro4 used. No problems with either. none, your rolling dice for very small discount on something someone else rejected. Hdds, psus, and gpus are a gamble used. There is risk with ram and mobos but they are not high Cpus, cases, and fans + air coolers are the safest.

Open box motherboards purchased from Newegg seemed to always be missing the IO shields, user manuals, cables, software disks, etc. An open box external disk drive enclosure might be missing a proprietary modular power supply. I've had far better luck buying "open box" items from Amazon Warehouse. I can always return the item if I'm not

A bad power supply can wreak havoc on your components. Better to spend that extra $30 and get a new one. I've been running an open box mobo from MC for 6 months and it's all good. Open Box models aren't always tested for proper operation, so you have a chance of getting a dud that is statiscally higher than default.

In general I will buy open box as long as it is a known brand and a known website, and you have both of them in this scenario. The negative to buying any open box is you should really buy extended coverage on it because manufacturers or Apple care start on the original purchase date of the item. If you don't care about your device then F the warranty save the money. Only if it is a good discount.

In store they are pretty reliable, check out the return policy on open box sales in case something is wrong with it. Open box generally means someone bought it, went home, opened it, (maybe put it in their computer) decided they didn't want it (for various reasons) then returned it. Sometimes they will have accessories missing (driver dvds, etc.)

Open Box items are honored for manufacturer's warranties. MicroCenter has good return policies and actually honors them. If it doesn't fail within the 15 days, you still have the warranty. If it's mistreated some way that would void the warranty before you get it, in most cases that will either be noticeable from inspection or you'll see signs

Hi, Most likely should be fine but you have to consider 3 things: 1- most of the time the price cut is minimal. 2- sometime you don't get full warranty. 3- some parts or defectiveness might occur. Personally wouldn't buy open box as some things may be missing. If the TV is a display, then it's been on 24/7/365. Open box items in home theater can be worth it, but I can't recommend that you buy any Samsung OLED TV. The burn in problems have been atrocious. Personal preference, I don't think open box is worth it.
