For instance 2013' Tomb Raider comes to mind with a simplistic crafting which kinda made sense as the materials were never shown and only described as "salvage" and that can mean anything. Yes, it is pointless unless you are a completionist. Going to have to agree here, there is no point when you can throw around 2-4k in tips and easily get everything you would want crafted done this late in the season by using trade chat, guildies, and the work order system.

Crafting in 1.5 - looks to be useless now. Previously you could craft legendaries until you got multiple slots, upgrade the iconics to legendary, build gear to sell etc but now there are fewer slots and not much useful to go in them, cars are cheaper and the iconic gear is kinda crap (RIP Lizzie) and not worth the hassle.

Hardly pointless, as they also lowered the cost of crafting materials from venders by A HUGE amount. You just can't cheese the system anymore, as they removed soda breakdown exploit, removed the grenade exploit, lowered the return on some item break downs, but in turn they also lowered the cost of crafting and upgrading items too.

Crafting is completely pointless. COMPLETELY pointless. Purple items require legendary components. So you need to have a legendary item, break it down to get legendary components so you can build...inferior gear. Nothing you craft is better than what you can pick up or find. Crafting only really becomes even close to viable at the end of the game.
