2. Take the existing melody (plus contributing elements) and either stack them in a higher octave or simply transpose them up 1 or 2 octaves. The creative filtering is implemented in a later step, so remember to make a note stating your future intention, to guarantee you don't mistakenly forget.

3. Sidechain. When working in trap music, sidechain compression is your best friend! Sidechain compression simply ducks, or compresses, the volume of a sound so that frequencies that may have the potential to clash, don't. Generally speaking, a ghost kick is used alongside a compressor in order to achieve this effect.

Now that you've crafted a hard trap beat in FL Studio 20, it's time to mix and master for maximum impact. Adjust the levels, add effects, and fine-tune the overall sound to make sure each element hits hard. Experiment with different techniques and don't be afraid to push the boundaries of traditional trap music.

1. Use a Repetitive Melody Loop. Step one to becoming the Mozart of trap is to find a 2 to 4 bar melody loop and repeat it throughout your song. When choosing a loop, avoid picking a melody that's hard to follow along with; simplicity is king.

This creates that irresistible rhythm and interest that make a trap beat special. EQing should focus on enhancing the sub-bass (below 60 Hz) while cutting around 100-200 Hz to leave room for the kick. Use distortion or saturation sparingly to add harmonics and make your bass line audible on smaller speakers.

Adding Layers and Effects. Experimenting with various layers and effects is essential for enhancing the depth and texture of your trap melody in FL Studio. Layering different sounds, such as strings, pads, and percussion, can add richness and complexity to your melody. Try blending a crisp hi-hat pattern with a deep 808 bass and a shimmering

A trap drum kit usually includes a hard trap kick, a selection of hi-hat samples, and a variety of other sounds that help to create the unique trap sound. One key technique in making trap beats is using the same melody throughout the track, a method that most people might overlook. This could involve creating a melody loop on your midi keyboard

PML Blog - S4. The harmonic minor scale is easy to create - all you need to do is raise the 7th step by a semitone. The raised step makes melodies sound a bit more interesting. PML Blog - S5. The phrygian scale is a bit different. Instead of raising the 7th, you need to lower the 2nd step by a semitone.

To begin, start out with a catchy melody like the one RAY BLK has labeled Keys. RAY BLK used a synthesizer preset by selecting Synthesizer โ Leads โ Lyleishwhich has a synth type of sound often heard in trap music. This synth can be used to make a simple but bouncy melody. Next, play it out using the keyboard.

To incorporate powerful 808 bass into your trap beats, adjust the 808 bass to sit well in the mix and provide a solid low-end foundation. Experiment with different 808 patterns to create movement and dynamics in the beat. Use sidechain compression to ensure the 808 bass doesn't clash with the kick and other elements.

Build your chord progression (try dragging chords in from the stamp menu.) Listen to the progression on loop to see if you get any ideas for a melody. If not, place some notes at different times on the grayed lines (In the scale) until you get something you like. Well, just seat behinde your daw and make some melodies.

Honestly trap music is all about the drums. That's what makes up like 70%-80% of it, IMO. So, for now, just focus on making your drums slap. You can literally throw anything over the drums & call it "trap." r/musicproducergrowth. 1. Award. Share. They look easy to make but extremely difficult.

Here's one really easy way. VII. Your leading note. G if your in amin. Try this i-VII-VI-v. Just walk down the scale. Amin-G-Fmaj-Emin (or can substitute with E for the dominant) I deliberately avoid this when I'm trying to make hard/evil beats. It'll make something hard sound sad/a lot softer, just with a single note.

Making trap beats is HARD AS FUCK, it makes no fucking sense at all. And it's not even about the percussion, like, it's complex but you can eventually find a way to make all the elements breathe, to create a bounce sensation, to place every sound in a smart way or whatever, it's the fucking melody that gets me.
