Relax, breathe, and keep in the back of your mind, that nothing bad will happen. The reaper is only in 1 spot right now, and with a seamoth, you'll be fine in the deep dark waters. Originally posted by Plot Seeker: I love this game to bits but I literally can't go further than the vine biome.

r/subnautica. •. merlinfire. game is almost too scary to play. as soon as the escape pod landed i stood on top for about 3 minutes before taking the plunge, just kind of noping. i spent the first like 3-4 hours too afraid to even think about going into the kelp forest more than just the very closest edge - and then just enough to get the kelp

This game uses that and dials it up to 100. There's "scary" and "gigantic" human eating monsters in the waters in some places. The deeper you go the more anxiety you get. It tries really hard to push on the fear of the unknown and it does it really well.

No joke, I have had Subnautica for 3 years and have never managed to finish it or get even close. The disorientating recks make me sick, my shitty computer can hardly handle the game and ofc every hostile creature in the game bigger than a Gasopod scares me so you're not alone :) My general advice is to face your fears head-on.

ADMIN MOD. Subnautica is the scariest game i have ever played. Its the first time im my life that i had to stopped playing a game because i was too afraid to actually do anything. The game feels so real, terrifying real. You are alone in an alien planet and you have to survive, underwater. You are defenseless against the creatures that live

Playing it in VR made me queasy, and I have "VR legs". Not out of being scary, but just the way the UI always sticks to your face, things like your head being unable to move independent of your body made it a really nauseating experience. It was neat to experience the scale of everything, but I can't really recommend Subnautica in VR honestly.

The Subnautica titles are non-horror games with plenty of scary aspects - the most instantly recognizable one being the leviathans that lurk in more dangerous sections of the map. Though there are

thanks for such an elaborate response! i'll take some time to think about this. 3 Steps to make it a truly horror Game: From a wall outlet, wire up live and neutral to each testicle and then have a raspberry pi with a relay to sense the "you died" screen. Hope this helps.

Subnautica is terrifying because it leans into a eldritch style of horror. At times it feels almost Lovecraftian, exposing the player to concepts that feel beyond their understanding. Creatures such as warpers encapsulate this, being able to teleport players out of safe environments if they stray too close.

Subnautica: Below Zero, a sequel to the original underwater survival game, is strikingly beautiful at times. The art style pops and the colors are vibrant. Surfacing for air occasionally means being dazzled by an aurora borealis or witnessing the rise of Planet 4546B's closer - and very much larger - of two moons.

Subnautica is secretly a brilliant horror game. Subnautica [ official site] seems like a nautical holiday wrapped inside a survival game. Swim around a gentle ocean and meet lots of colourful fish, chill out in an underwater forest, sunbathe on top of a little escape pod - it all sounds very relaxing. Don't be fooled.

Kinda in the same vein, I've always loved how Subnautica, Prey, Dead Space, and Bioshock all are creepy/scary games that give you ample tools to fight back without sacrificing much. Subnautica does it best though, since it only gives us you the tools to deter and avoid things, and rarely gives you the ability to directly fight back.

Yes, Subnautica is intended to be a scary game. While it is marketed as an underwater survival/adventure game, it also incorporates elements of horror. The game features intimidating leviathans and creates an overwhelming sense of loneliness, which can be unnerving and frightening for players.

First of all, it's a great game, but there are a couple of things that kind of don't work. Leviathans aren't scary. Hear me out. They stick to an established range, and generally aren't much of a threat. You can hear them coming and they are easily dealt with in general. They are a threat if you're just swimming, but any vehicle with a reasonable amount of health will survive an attack. They

There's an argument to be made for this being Subnautica's scariest Leviathan. It definitely takes the top spot for me. I can handle most of Subnautica's Leviathans after having played the game for years but this one still gives me the willies. That said, there are two others that I think most people might find even scarier. 2.

Or even just the music! The giant fissure has astoundingly creepy music and ambiance. It's specifically meant to sound like a pounding heart. It's designed and intended to subtly overtune your nerves until the slightest blip of unexpected movement or sound makes you want to dart 500-700m straight up.

Too scared to continue. So I have a seamoth, a decent base, prawn suit, and a moonpool. I'm looking for my last engine fragment so I can make the Cyclops, but the Reaper Leviathans are scaring me too much to continue. I've only seen one three times, and never fought one, but i'm to scared to even go 50 meters down from the mountain island to
