Yes, you can play it alone, but part of the fun is the desperate attempts of the "Expert (s)" to understand the Defuser's attempts at describing what he or she sees and hears on the bomb. For instance, one possible module consists of really weird "alphabet" symbols. Since you, the Expert, don't see the symbols, the Defuser has to describe them.

Nah its best if no one has a fucking clue what's going on honestly lol, the first few bombs aren't too difficult so theres time for people to be freaking out trying to understand the directions. Just change who can see the bomb each time you fail or win and run through the first bomb 2-3 times before people agree to start moving up in difficulty.

The other person/team only needs the PDF file which is a free download with the defuse instructions. I find printing the PDF adds a level of fun that you wouldn't expect. 5.

Well I had come to a resolution with this on my end eventually. I was using 2 graphics cards (SLI Disabled) HDMI on my main display from card 1 then HDMI on the DK2 to card 2, I went out and bought a DVI to HDMI adapter for my main display and had the DK2 on the HDMI out both on the same card and that fixed my crash issue.
