I really like the shiny Gum. yeah the old style vulcanization is a callback to van's heritage because when they first designed the shoes, the technology didn't exist yet to get that shiny finish off of the rubber, these new ones are a nice little nod to the og's. The Skate has the PopCush insole while the Pro had ComfyCush, but I also had a pair with UltraCush in them. I miss the Pro and likewise found the name less odd since I don't skate. But I have really enjoyed these.

Unpopular opinion. Shoes are wear time. There's no sentimental value to shoes. You wear them out. You buy another pair etc. If you care about that "limited edition" or whatever. Chattanooga has a McKays as well. Pretty nifty place. McKay has locations in Nashville, Knoxville, and Chattanooga, and it is a huge place with books, music, movies, and of course video games.
