As promised, I'm here with the opposite post of what I did last week so I'm reacting to 1-star reviews of books I loved. 1-star reviews are always more fun to read than their 5-star counterpart because people tend to find so many creative ways to get an outlet for their frustration. So this is all just in good fun.

It's sad that this reader didn't do the same. And I have to disagree with their assessment of the adaptation. There are two versions of Beauty and the Beast out there...the one everyone knows thanks to Disney is the Jeanne-Marie Leprince de Beaumont tale. But the original Beauty and the Beast was a novel by Gabrielle-Suzanne de Villeneuve in which the prince is raised by a fairy who eventually

One-star reviews are a good example, but a lot of people do actively like seeing the "fail state" of something. Whether it's a car crash or "Kitchen Nightmares," there is something exhilarating about learning the nitty, gritty, horrible details as an observer. #22. laurasbooktalk Report. Final score:

I understand not everyone is going to love a book. Not every book is for everyone and even classics have their love/hate. No such thing as a perfect book, but one and two star reviews sometimes help me a lot when looking for something new to read! (Though I love a good reading rant, especially when the reader calls out all the plot holes.)

Step 1. Thank, Acknowledge, Ask, Apologize, and Empathize. The first step in addressing a one-star review starts with gratitude. You might wonder why thanking someone for a negative comment is necessary, but remember that every feedback offers you an opportunity to improve your service or product.

Hello, friends. I come to you, sort of confused because I just realized that I've seen way too many one-star reviews on GR based on the fact that during a separation period (break-ups, mistakenly assumed deaths, whatever dramatic plot points) one of the characters (usually the man) had sex while the other (usually the woman) pined or waited for him or grieved their relationship or whatever.

The authors find that (1) reviews are overwhelmingly positive at both sites, but there are more reviews and longer reviews at Amazon.com; (2) an improvement in a book's reviews leads to an increase in relative sales at that site; (3) for most samples in the study, the impact of one-star reviews is greater than the impact of five-star reviews

I've done it! After nearly 4.5 years as a published writer with ten books out there, it has finally happened. Today, I received my first ever 1-star review on Amazon for my latest novel The Secret to Happiness. In the writing community, the first 1-star review is often joked about as being the 'rite of passage' or it's said that you

I just tried this on my libra 2 and it worked. Go to "My Books". Find the book, and then do a long press on it. A menu will pop up with some options. Select "View Details" from that menu. To the right of the cover, you'll see the star rating. Just tap the star that it actually deserves. Let me know if that works, or if I wasn't clear enough. 11.

Confession: The main reason I don't make my books free on Amazon is to avoid one-stars. Yeah, every book gets a couple. Yes, it doesn't define me, my self-esteem will be fine, etc. And if somebody genuinely disliked the book, I'd rather they warn off similarly minded people before they read it.

Oh yeah, there have been a lot of 1 star reviews that actually sold me on the book, since they'll usually confirm that the blurb delivers the kind of content it promises. Seems like some of these people buy books in subgenres they know they'll hate just so they can get outraged over it. ... My haul from Love's Sweet Arrow, a romance book
