Imagine that you have a long list of tasks you need to finish before the day ends, you wake up motivated and ready to accomplish every one of those tasks.
However, halfway through the day you are already tired and exhausted, your productivity decreases significantly. Eventually, you got distracted and spent the rest of the day scrolling through social media.
And just like that the whole day is gone without you fully accomplishing any of the tasks on your to-do list. This cycle keeps repeating itself, then a whole month passes and you are wondering how come time is moving so fast without you hitting your goals.
These 6 tips will help you start your day strong and accomplish all your tasks productively without draining yourself.
1. Plan your Day the Night Before
Planning your day the night before gives you clarity when you wake up, reduces decision fatigue, and promotes effective time management during the day.
Taking the time to write your goals for the next day before going to bed also helps you relax and sleep better.
2. Exercise for 30 Minutes
A 20-30 minute morning exercise routine before you start the day can help you activate your mind, reduce stress and boost physical energy, which in turn enhances mental stamina and focus throughout the day.
3. Use the Pomodoro Technique
The Pomodoro Technique is a powerful productivity method that can help you work efficiently, stay focused and productive for longer periods of time, without getting burned out. It is also a good way to break down big tasks into smaller, more manageable chunks, which can make them seem less daunting.
To use this technique, start by choosing a task you want to work on. Set a timer for 25 minutes and focus on the task until the timer goes off. Eliminate all distractions and work with intense focus during this time.
After 25 minutes of work, take a 5-minute break. Step away from your desk and use this time to stretch, relax, or do something else that will help you clear your head.
Repeat this cycle of 25 minutes work and 5 minutes break 4 times, then take a long break of 15-30 minutes. These longer breaks help you to maintain productivity, keep your mind fresh and ensure you don’t get tired quickly.
After a long break, restart the whole technique again until you complete your task.
4. Avoid Social Media
The fastest way to break your focus and lose momentum when working is continuously checking social media.
Constantly switching between real work and scrolling through social media does not only distract you and steals your time, but also drains and demotivates you.
If you want to be fully focused while working, turn off all social media notifications. You can check what’s happening on social media when you are done with your most important tasks, trust me you won’t miss anything.
5. Stop Before you Reach Zero
As an entrepreneur, when you feel motivated, you might be tempted to overwork yourself until you are completely drained. At first it seems like a good thing to do, but constantly draining yourself will negatively impact your ability to stay focused and productive on the long run.
Remember business is a long term game, and you don’t have to finish everything today, stop working before your energy level gets to absolute zero. Step out and do something fun, spend time with family and friends, rest, recharge and continue tomorrow.
6. Establish a Routine
Our bodies have a system that works like an internal clock called the circadian rhythm, and the circadian rhythm loves patterns and routines.
Creating a routine around daily activities like going to bed around the same time, waking up around the same time, exercising around the same time, working around the same time, and eating around the same time will help you save energy, enhance discipline and improve productivity
