Hipsway were formed in Glasgow, Scotland in the mid-1980s. They released two albums on the Mercury/Phonogram label: Hipsway (1986)and Scratch The Surface (1988).
The single The Honeythief reached #17 in the UK and #19 in the US but the band split after the second album. Grahame Skinner (vocals) and Pim Jones (guitar) formed Witness, recording one album on A&M, House Called Love (1991).
With a growing demand from their loyal fans and coinciding with Hot Shot Records' release of the deluxe CD version of Hipsway, Jones and Skinner decided to reform the band for several 30th anniversary concerts in November 2016.
Sophistipop? Blue-eyed soul? Pop/new wave? However you describe them they are back!
