Hey another reminder: This channel isn't dead. I'm just sorting out my life.
This is certainly part of that figuring out. I'm trying to figure out how to best utilize this channel.
My dreams, ambitions and life view is very different to when I started this channel and even started posting original content. My view on this channel was originally focused on the subjects, not myself despite actively showing myself in a personality-driven way in videos and in post like this. My original plan for this channel was to integrate a cast and make the channel less of me and more about a group of film nerds, that's done a full 180 because I'm very tempted to make this channel just me (with the odd guest) and the content I want to create (but still relevant hopefully to the audience I've attracted, don't worry I'm not going to turn into a Minecraft channel or anything lol). So I might be rebrand this channel to adjust to that, and post not only Film Evolution content but general self-promotion of other things I'm working on (such as film projects I'm making).
I had a rough patch of life recently, made me think about what I wanted to do. And smack, right in my face came an old dream I gave up on: acting, or well entertainment in general but mainly acting. I still love filmmaking too and will continue with that also. But I'm chill about it all, not pressuring myself to do it. I'm taking my time and enjoying what I'm doing. If things work out they work out, if they don't then that's fine too.
Don't know how to end this. Its past midnight and I'm really tired but my monkey brain is thinking about projects that I'm too tired to actually do. Hope this post makes sense and I hope to get back to this channel soon. I've not forgotten it and I haven't given up on it! It's only just beginning! For anyone who's still here after the 500th post like this, thanks for sticking around!

New video coming soon. Very different style to what I've done before and more or less just an update video. A bit more casual than my normal content, bit more about myself. Previously I swore never to make an update video on the channel I want this channel to be more about the film history and not me however I guess I can't help putting more of myself out there on the internet. Still has a lot to do with films though, don't worry I don't hog all the spotlight I'll be sort of explaining my own relationship to cinema a little bit 😊❤

Many new voices will appear in the first Anime Explained video. Very happy to have them on board, some very talented voice actors and friends that I've known for years. I'm taking a back seat with most of the voice-over work as I struggle to read scripts (even though I write them myself) and pronouncing Japanese names/words is especially difficult for me (very sorry if I pronounce any wrong). I'm still involved, I enjoy presenting and adding in a somewhat comedic element to the videos. However overall its easier for me to edit and listen to voices other than my own 😂 ~ Dee

Update: Anime Explained, a series about the history of anime, will be the debut of other Films Evolve cast members. For a while now I have wanted to involve more people in this channel as I don't want it to be all about myself and I find it tedious to record and edit my own voice, especially for long-form videos. Luckily for me, I have loads of creative friends and past acquaintances who are interested in helping out. Yesterday an actor friend of mine recorded a bit for an upcoming video, and he did a fantastic job!
As of right now, I will still be the main person running the channel, the writer, the researcher, the editor and the main presenter. I'll also be the one also responding to all the comments. I still enjoy doing all of these things but I expect I will be expanding to have a team of collaborators at some point. This will make videos faster to make and also make the process more enjoyable for myself and hopefully for all who may watch!
I really hope to get this video done soon, but I also don't want to rush it. At the moment this video is keeping me busy through some pretty tough times, and I'm so far immensely proud of it.
Thank you to everyone who's staying for the ride, I'm slightly overwhelmed and blessed that I still have a steady channel going despite my fluctuating activity and constant inconsistent content style. Trust me, after years of no one caring about what I put on this platform I don't take this for granted. I'm happy that I'm making something, that might hopefully be enjoyed by others as well as myself.
