A channel update: Just wanted to let you know, that I'm working on a video about HPPD, and some other topics on the side. There will be some delay since I've taken some time off for vacation during the summer and otherwise I've been very busy with research projects. Rest assured, multiple videos are in preparation.

For some topics, I really spend a lot of time doing the research. First I do a literature search of relevant scientific publications, then I skim through them and start drafting an overview of the key ideas. To get a good overall perspective, this might sometimes take multiple full working days. I'm doing this during my free time, a couple of hours here and there, so it might end up taking several weeks before I'm ready to record. After that comes the editing, which typically takes from 8-48 hours. For some videos, this might be fast, but for others - where there's a lot of concepts that need to be visualized and animated - it can take a lot of time.

My goal is to try and create content that is true to the scientific evidence and gives a good overall perspective of a particular topic. Of course, my expertise is limited on many topics, but I try my best within reasonable effort. I'm always open to contrasting viewpoints, if they are based on solid arguments.

I've been really, really amazed with the channel growth and the positive comments I've received so far - massive thanks to all of you subscribers and viewers. I appreciate you sharing my content on other platforms, something I often don't have the time to do myself. I've also received a lot of great suggestions, and there are many topics I'd like to pursue in the future.

Like you may have noticed, I have ads turned on for most videos. I hope you don't mind it too much. The small amounts of ad revenue I get cover at least some of the costs of using stock footage, software and so on, and this is super cool. My dream would be to have the resources to hire an editor, to focus even more on the quality and to really put in the work for creating visually informative and educational neuropharmacology related content. With your support, maybe that dream will come true one day!

Wow! Today the channel has broken 10 000 subscribers, which is a big thing for me! Thank you all for your interest in my channel and I hope you will continue to find my content interesting.

While I'm thinking of the possibility to create something special to celebrate 10k subs, feel free to vote on your favorite topic from some of the randomly selected ideas from my list.

PS: I recently activated a (new) more strict policy on restricting bots and their constant bombardment of the comments section, and it seems to have decreased the amount of bot comments that make it through. Not sure if it will sometimes make mistakes and block real comments, but I guess we have to live with that.

FYI: With the increase in traffick there's also an increase in bots spamming my content, creating false discussions and advertising whatever shady things they are selling. Please understand that I do not accept these tactics, and while I already spend a lot of time blocking and reporting users, there are too many to really make an effect. Youtube should do better to prevent this kind of a hijacking of the comments feed.

I don't know what's going on, but the channel is suddenly attracting a lot of people! Over 1,5k increase in subs within a day - that is amazing! Thank you so much for liking and subscribing and I hope you all enjoy the previous content and look forward to new videos. This sudden increase of activity also has pushed me to try and release the next video as fast as possible, perhaps already during the weekend :)

Let's aim for 10 000 subs next! I might just do a special episode to celebrate that :)
