*Update on the anosmia* I can smell some things! But notes are missing. Like looking at a picture of a rainbow and only being able to see the purple and green parts.
And I can taste the basic flavours just fine (salty, sweet, sour, and bitter). Just not with the aromas.
For example, blueberries are like slightly sweet bursts of water now.
I get bitterness with caramel notes from my usual coffee. Just not the toasted cereal and chocolate notes that I remember it should have.
But I can smell garlic again! And rose! And lavender! And mint!
My optimistic nature made me think this was enough continue developing some recipes. Especially ones that I've been working on (on and off) for years.
I've been working on a seitan recipe for the past weekend and was finally so happy with it! I made a plan to film it this week.
Then last night, my man brought home some snacks. I thought they changed the recipe; it tasted better than usual.
Some of the ingredients in this snack are the same in the recipe I was working on.
Let's just say, my sense of taste/smell are still highly unreliable π€£
All that to say, the next recipes will be all about satisfying textures.

Hi friends. It's with a heavy heart, I must share that Riles gone to the Rainbow Bridge.
He went there peacefully in the beginning of February.
I think of him as my soul-mate-cat; perfectly matched with me in every way.
And I know that many of you have appreciated him as well.
