Established in 1984, Sur Sagar focussed specifically on the music of Gujarat in the Northwest and the new studio gave them opportunity to produce exclusive albums of the traditional folk and devotional music of the region. Part of that goal was to be in complete control of the production to ensure quality standards were met, to bring a superior product to the public and to help nurture the art itself. In 1996, they established a new record label Sense World Music - bringing together many great talents from the global music community including the great maestros of Indian classical music.
The team record artists each year at the famous Saptak music festival, the perfect setting for capturing fine musical spirits. They also record many artists at Indias premier recording studios.
