I'm going to Alaska! On an epic adventure to track down the final overland trains!

In 2023 (while on my honeymoon) I managed to find the massive TC-497 and now my plan is to find the LeTourneau 'Sno-Freighter' and the Army's LCC-1 'Sno-Train'. One is in Alaska, one is in Yukon. It's going to be a hell of a drive.

If you haven't already, be sure to follow me on Instagram - I'll be documenting the journey and then hopefully sharing my finished videos on here. www.instagram.com/calumraasay/

A big thank you to everyone who watched my latest video on the incredible 1930s 'Nairn Buses'! It's been a subject I've loved for years so I'm glad I was able to do the subject justice. It was only after I uploaded however that I was shown these amazing videos of the buses in action! This is from the 1950s BBC film "First Overland", documenting the first overland crossing from London to Singapore. I think the old buses look more modern the Land Rovers!

I've been looking forward to this video for a LONG time! With the release of the new MAD MAX film it seems like perfect timing...

26 tons, 80 feet long, carrying 40 passengers through the depths of the Syrian Desert. The desert buses of Nairn Transport coming soon

Could this be the end of Russia (and the world's) most unique salvage ship?

Ukraine claims to have damaged the Kommuna, the ancient submarine salvage ship that's served various Russian regimes since 1915. A video seems to show parts of her bridge on fire but recent satellite photos show her still intact and afloat. This isn't the first time she's come under attack - in my video on the Kommuna we dived into the amazing history of this ship (no pun. intended), including it's fascinating WWI and WWII service: https://youtu.be/0X2Dz6PA1rQ?si=r1ofP...

The Kommuna was probably targeted due to the ROV equipment and submersibles she carried. Damaging these would leave Russian Submarines operating the Black Sea without key rescue and emergency equipment and further exposed.

Russia has claimed that fragments of an intercepted anti-ship missile "caused a small fire, which was quickly extinguished". Based on the satellite images, the damage does appear to be minimal.

What do you think? Will the Kommuna live to fight another day? Another War? Or another Russian Regime?

For YEARS I have dreamed of owning a Toyota Hilux Surf. Why? Simple: They are the coolest trucks ever made! Rugged reliability combined with timeless Japanese quirk and style. Last week, I finally got my hands on one. I'll try to make a video on it soon - right now I'm too busy driving it!
