A couple of weeks back we attended the weekly evening classic car meet at the Swettenham Arms pub near Congleton - and I was blown away by the turnout!
Before long, a vast array of classic cars, sports cars and more spilled into the overflowing pub car park - and in Sunday morning's video expect a full walkaround of everything to see from this huge evening car meet.
There were plenty cars to wet the appetite of a car enthusiast, with a aluminium body Jaguar XK120, Alfaholics GTA, Ferrari 250TR, a Lola T70 and a fantastic 1927 Lincoln V8 that were my particular favourites, among a multitude of other great enthusiast cars.

The Cheshire circuit of Oulton Park recently hosted its biggest historic racing event - the Oulton Park Gold Cup. In Sunday's fantastic video expect a full review & walkaround, including plenty classic & vintage race cars out on track, a packed classic car show area, and an interesting wander around the Hampsons Auctions candidates.
The historic racing cars that attended 2024's Gold Cup races ranged wildly from the 1920s to the 1990s, with a plethora of championships competing such as the Historic Touring Cars, Historic F3, 500cc racers, the insane F5000 cars, Ferrari Superperformance cup, the great Modsports, and my favourites - the Historic Grand Prix cars association cars.
Early in the morning I will take you for a walkaround of the ecclectic mix of cars warming up for qualifying in the historic car paddock, where I was able to get up close & personal with some incredible classic race cars!
During the lunch break after drooling over the sights & sounds of Maserati 250Fs, Cooper-Bristols, BRMs and more in the morning's qualifying, I headed over to the Hampsons Auction area, which contained a varied assortment of classic cars up for sale, from a £750 Rolls-Royce to a great little Innocenti Mini.
This year's Oulton Park Gold Cup races made for fantastic filming & entertainment - with some ringing ears after two race-starts for a packed grid of incredible Formula 5000 cars!
This is one of my favourite videos on the channel so far - as I'm sure many know, I am quite a sucker for some old race cars - so please do check it out after 7:30AM GMT on Sunday!

In Wednesday's new upload, I will fast-track you through the rich history of one of the most desirable classic sports cars - the AC Cobra!
The AC Cobra or Shelby Cobra sports cars owe their roots to the classic British sports car the AC Ace, and of course to the man behind it all - Carroll Shelby!
In this video you will find a summary of the fascinating history of the development of the early AC Cobra sports cars, to the thousands of replicas that can be seen at almost any classic car show. Also expect various images and footage of various original AC Cobras and Shelby Cobras from a plethora of events, from the Goodwood Revival races, to the much-missed Cholmondeley Pageant of Power.
A lot of time went into finding various pictures of the rare original sports cars to supplement my informative (!) voiceover!

The "Anything Goes" evening car meet saw an incredible turnout of enthusiast cars from classic cars to supercars, and Sunday's new video, expect a full review & walkaround of the packed show field, which contained many rare & amazing automotive finds!
For this particular car meet, we dusted off the little Renault 4CV after a bit of fuel pump tinkering should render it more reliable (!) and turned up nice and early to this evening car meet in Malpas, Cheshire, where soon we were welcomed by a packed 'arrivals lounge' where all sorts of fascinating enthusiast cars piled in to the car show, with many a Fast Ford making an appearance.
Some of my favourite from this amazing turnout at this year's "Anything Goes" evening car show include a 1938 Chevrolet Pickup, a Chamberlain Champion tractor, a Fiat 600, and a wide array of Ford Escorts in various states of modification!
After a full walkaround of all the goings-on at the main field of this particular evening car show, I take you to the exit, to capture the sight & sound of the classic cars, tuner cars, vintage cars, jdm cars and every other type of car you can imagine leaving the car meet.

The Wem Vehicles of Interest car show has always been one of my favourite classic car events in the UK to film, and July 2024's edition was no different! This unique car show in Shropshire always sees a fantastic turnout of fascinating cars of all shapes and sizes along with their enthusiastic owners, and of course the brilliant road-run through Wem itself - and it's all in Sunday's new upload!
In this video expect a full walkaround of the classic cars, sports cars, microcars, modern classics and any other type of enthusiast car at the first field and my take on them, before joining me to see the Wem town centre chock-a-block with gorgeous classic & vintage cars!
Some of this 16 year old's favourites included an Austin A40 Cambridge, a Lotus Elite, a Lanchester 14 and the UK's only Austin Kimberly! (you might need to watch to find out what that even is!)

Don't get caught out by another CarTraction mid-week upload!
Viewers of the Old Classic Car YouTube channel will have spied our new modern classic car in various videos - but if you haven't then here's an introduction to our new(ish) long-distance enthusiast car, and what better place for an introduction than the Combermere "Cars and Caffeine" breakfast car meet?! Albeit, with a sharing of torrential rain showers and thunderstorms mixed in with the familiar precedings of the latest cars and coffee meet at the Old Piggery Cafe in Wednesday's new upload!
Recently the well-known cars and coffee meeting has undergone a few structural changes in the form of a strict pre-1990 cars meet, and a post-1990 cars meeting. In this video where I introduce our new classic car, I will also be doing a brief walkaround of the post 1990 enthusiast cars that braved the torrential rain showers, from a Dakar-rally spec Bowler Wildcat to a new-on-the-scene classic Mini!

In case no one has noticed - the CarTraction YouTube channel just stumbled over the 3000 subscriber mark!
Thank you to all who have watched and subscribed to all my automotive antics on this channel since its birth in the lockdown of 2020, and I plan of course to keep making videos, which in the not-too-far-away future will see my taking to the road in classic cars myself.
I also have a few exciting and unique videos planned & in the pipeline, so make sure to tune in for those, and I have also just made a very interesting purchase, which no doubt will appear at some point on here soon!
So to celebrate, here's a photo of the '95 Mazda on a recent outing (more photos can be found at CarTraction_vids on Instagram!), looking as happy as I am writing now to say we now have 3000 subscribers!

In Sunday's new video I will be battling the typical British summer weather (if you're from the UK - you'll get that!) to bring you a full walkaround of a recent breakfast car meet, held at the Three Greyhounds Inn.
The 1950 Ford V8 Pilot wafted us over to the site of this previously unseen car meet, where we were greeted by a steady stream of arriving cars, which made for an ecclectic meeting of classic cars, sports cars, supercars and more dating from the 1950s to the present day.
And then the heavens opened, welcoming sharp rain showers to the breakfast car meet! However, I had thought ahead, and had wangled a seat in a sleek Jaguar E-Type just as the showers began, but eventually I had to succumb and leave the immaculate interior, to be greeted by a free bacon butty!
Please make sure to check this one out when it hits the channel homepage at 7:30AM GMT on Sunday, and a like would be much appreciated, as this particular video - let's say - wasn't the most pleasant-to-film video I've ever done!! ;)
