IT’S NOT MAGIC, IT’S POSING 📸 Small adjustments can make a HUGE difference in the way you show up in front of the camera.

Let’s break it down…

❌ While this is a perfectly fine way to sit in real life, it doesn’t translate well in photos.
❌ My torso is compressed, my legs are foreshortened and my body looks boxy.
✅ Turning to a 45 degree angle makes the lines of my body more visible.
✅ Sitting at the edge of my seat elongates my torso.
✅ Bending my knee creates a narrowing point that complements my lower body and adds visual interest.
✅ The position of my arms guide the viewer’s eye upward, making my body look longer.

POSING DOESN’T HAVE TO BE DIFFICULT ⚠️

✨ My Swim Posing Guide is on sale through Thursday, 8/29 for only $15!

PHOTOS HEALED MY SELF IMAGE 📸 Ten years ago, I gained 70 lbs from medication. It was over the course of a year and half, but it felt like it happened overnight...

At the time, I was working in the fashion industry in NYC and blogging for fun. I was attending fashion week, made a lot of friends in the fashion blogging community, and started working with brands I was excited about.

Most importantly, I LOVED the creative outlet that photographing, styling and sharing my own shoots provided.

Then I gained weight.

Suddenly, I felt like a stranger in my own body. My clothes no longer fit. I barely felt comfortable looking at myself in the mirror, let alone seeing myself in photos.

I was left with a choice: I could either hide from the world and give up a hobby that I loved, or I could find a new way to do things.

Thankfully, I chose the second option.

I found an incredible community of plus size bloggers and learned from them where to shop and how to style my “new” body.

Instead of hiding from the camera, I took all of the knowledge I learned from being both in front of the camera and behind the scenes on shoots, and I re-learned how to pose.

I was able to put my own unique spin on the fundamentals and find poses that worked for my new body.

Then something amazing happened…

The more I took photos, the more comfortable I became in my new body. I even found an appreciation for its unique beauty.

Learning how to pose not only provided me a creative outlet— it allowed me to reclaim my presence and show up in this world.

Honestly, this is WHY I teach others. I want you to have the same experience of seeing your own beauty and the infinite possibilities of what YOU are capable of.

It’s why I’m SO excited to launch my brand new program, Photogenic Bootcamp on Wednesday.

There’s so much more to being photogenic than just looking good— it’s being able to express yourself through your body in a way that feels authentic and empowers your self image.

Photogenic Bootcamp is limited to only 30 women, so if you want to be the first to get access get on the waitlist HERE:

WANT TO BE PHOTOGENIC? 📸 Most people won’t tell you this, but learning how to be photogenic is just like learning any other skill.

Yes, it’s a ✨SKILL✨ — just like playing basketball, or knitting, or chess.

You have to know where to start, learn the fundamentals, and then practice that skill until you master it.

Want to learn how?

I’m opening up the doors to my BRAND NEW program, Photogenic Bootcamp in July. 🎉

This program is designed to transform your relationship with the camera by teaching you a step by step process you can use to get photos you love. So you have peace of mind when you’re being photographed, and see and yourself in a new light that’s confident and empowered.

Since it’s the first time I’m opening up the doors to this program, I’m limiting it to small group of roughly 30 women.

5 EASY POSES TO TRY IN THE POOL 📸 Which pose is your favorite?

I love these poses because you don’t even have to leave the pool, and the contrast of the sunlight against the water gives the photo a cool editorial feel.

Let’s break them down…

POSE ONE✨ Rest one hand under your chin and look to the side.

POSE TWO✨ Extend your arms and lean back with your head tilted to the side.

POSE THREE✨ “Fix” your hair and look to the side

POSE FOUR✨ Hold on to the pool ladder with one hand, adjust your sunglasses with the other.

POSE FIVE✨ Extend both arms on the pool ledge and look up toward the sun.

YOU DESERVE TO HAVE MEMORIES ⚠️ The biggest mistake ruining your vacation photos is that YOU aren’t in them!

I know how it is… It can be so easy getting caught up in photographing the memories— serene sunrises, gorgeous meals, picturesque landscapes and breathtaking sunsets— that you forget to step in front of the camera and be IN your memories.

As summer draws near, make a conscious effort to include yourself in those precious moments. Even if you don’t like them or feel comfortable sharing them, I can guarantee you’ll be glad you had them some day!

LET’S TALK ABOUT “UNFLATTERING” PHOTOS 📸 I don’t know who needs to hear this, so I’m just going to say it…

A photo may be “bad,” but that doesn’t mean YOU are.

HERE’S THE DEAL ⬇️

We all have photos of ourselves that we don’t like. In fact, they are an inevitable reality.

Photos take a 3D human and flatten them into a 2D image. Minor changes in lighting, camera angle and posing can dramatically transform an an image.

So, even the most experienced models shooting with the world’s best photographers will have photos they feel are “bad” photos.

✨HOWEVER ✨

Understanding how lighting, posing and camera angles can enhance a photo better improves your odds of getting photos that you love.

It isn’t smoke and mirrors. It’s strategy.

This is why I created my Swim Posing Guide.

Ready to capture gorgeous memories, boost your self-love and feel empowered in front of the camera?
