Experts have a problem.

They cannot learn new ways
Even if they learn new ways
they cannot unlearn old ways

This makes them less collaborative.

Only way to overcome this to
treat yourself as "Solution Expert"
Not "Tool Expert"

If you are an aspirant
build this mindset right now.

Announcement: The "ML: Beginners to Advanced" course will be launched on July 18th 📢

I am thrilled with how the content has been built, featuring industry relevance, in-depth intuition of ML algorithms, and practical projects. Working hard on the final stages of recording, Wish me luck! 😊

When I started the Codebasics YouTube channel in 2015, I had no clear goals.

I was unfamiliar with monetization, channel growth, or the perks of being an influencer.

In fact, the reason for starting a YouTube channel was entirely different.

Amidst a significant health struggle, I was searching for the purpose of this fragile and vulnerable life.

One thought that struck a chord was: What about sharing what I have learned via YouTube?

This led me to consistently upload videos, aiming to demystify complex topics.

A few weeks back, I received the Gold Button for surpassing a million subscribers.

While the Gold Button was never the goal for the existence of codebasics channel, it is a milestone that inspires reflection.

📝 Note to myself: Keep an open mind and seek opportunities amidst challenges. Behind the darkness, there may be a glimmer of gold waiting. 🪙

No one likes to do laundry and dishes.
AI cannot help here.

People like writing and coding.
AI can help here.

This is intresting!

Let's say in 5 years

All "white-collar" jobs will be AI-assisted

But physical jobs like plumbing, hairdressing jobs won't be.

Why?

Robotics, physical side of AI is expensive and not easily replicable like GPT.

This will lead to 2 things

[1] Jobs requiring physical labor or craftmanship would grow more in demand and earn higher average pay than tech jobs. We already see examples, like small chai shop owners earning more than entry-level IT professionals.

[2] People will learn to perform these tasks themselves. Like it is common to do a self hair cut in developed countries than it is more common in under developed countries simply because the labor is expensive.

One good thing I see out of this is class division of people based on jobs they do would reduce and all jobs would be respected as a "profession" which is not the case now especially in countries like India.

Thoughts? 👇🏽

Imagine waking up to be the master of a magical genie 🔮

This genie grants you any food you desire, anytime!

You start your day with an American breakfast.

Later, you enjoy a delicious Indian lunch.

In the evening, you have Mexican food followed by Italian desserts.

You keep eating all day, even before bed.

But you're so busy consuming that you don't have time to exercise or digest.

What happens if you live like this?

The food isn't unhealthy, but your eating habits are.

This genie is like the internet, Google, and ChatGPT.

The food is a metaphor for unlimited information, often free.

Some information is valuable, but some is confusing and time-draining.

The best way to utilize the privilege of information access is to consume less, digest more.

Take time to practice what you learn.

Learning Data Science?

Spend 30 minutes watching tutorials and 2 hours digesting, practicing, and sharing what you learned.

Learning stock investing?

Don't just watch videos on stock analysis. Build a small portfolio and experience your learning firsthand.

Real transformation comes with ACTION, not with constant consumption.

Think “YOU” cannot do it?

YOU are not alone!

Meet 2017 me, who never ran a KM before.

A witty suggestion from a colleague

turned to a serious push and

I ended signing up for a half marathon.

Everyone thought it's a joke - including myself.

But deep down I felt it's a commitment.

The beauty of commitment is that it creates a momentum of its own.

I started practicing with a simple goal - 2 kilometers.

Just a small, achievable step. And guess what? I did it.

The taste of that small win was the springboard I needed.

2 kilometers extended to 4, then 8. 🚀

But here's the catch - to finish the half marathon, I needed to cover 21 kms.

And that? Not in my plan.

On the event day, as I hit 10 kms, a thought sparked. 💡

What if I pushed a little harder?

So, I stretched my limits, 1km of pain at a time, to reach 14.

Exhausted, I was ready to throw in the towel at 14.

Something crazy happened like a divine intervention

I was dragged to 15, 16 and 17 by some high-spirited fellow runners. 🏃🏽‍♀️

The next 2 Kms? This is the hardest thing I've ever done to date.

Fighting my inner voice asking me to qu

But as I staggered past the 19-kilometre mark, something strange happened.

My pain started fading away and I started running faster with a smile on my face.

And there it was.
The finish line.
The so-called 'Impossible'. 🏆

This journey was more than just about fitness. It gave me several mental models.

One of the Mental Models:

Achieve something that you think as "impossible" at least once in your life. There starts your second life, a much better one! 🔥

What's your takeaway? 👇🏽

Here is the update on my upcoming "Machine Learning: Beginners to Advanced" course.

1. I am putting many hours daily to build this course. I've also involved some of my data scientists friends working in the industry and also incorporating my past experience and AtliQ experience working on real-life projects. I promise: this course will be the BEST on the internet with so much industry relevance.

2. It will have two REAL LIFE industry projects, one in FINANCE, the other in HEALTHCARE

3. Course will cover Python, Math, Statistics basics as well so in the case you are starting from the very beginning, you will be covered.

4. The course includes super easy explanations of complex topics. A lot of math is also covered

5. It will also include some soft skills required for data scientists and AI engineers.

6. Cinematic experiences, real-time discord doubt support, exercises, and quizzes will be the cherry on the cake

Since this is a detailed and premium course, the effort required to build is very high. I am trying my best to release this in June but there is a possibility it may go in July (before July 15). I am sorry that I have kept you waiting for a long time 🙏🏼 But once the course is out, you will understand that the wait was worth it! 😃

The price will be around 2000 INR (maybe a little more than that). My humble request is to not compare this course with cheap courses on other e learning websites because we offer much more which is outlined in the points above. If you have taken any of our data analyst courses, especially the Power BI course, you will understand what I am talking about 🙏🏼

For working professionals willing to pivot their careers to AI:

Here are the steps you can take right now:

1. Learn the basics of AI
==================

You need to understand the differences among various AI jargons (e.g., what is the difference between statistical ML vs. deep learning? What exactly is an LLM?) and when to use which to solve a given business problem. Many fast-paced courses can teach you all of this without having to learn coding. (Shameless plug: I have a course that I will add in the comments section below)

2. Build an AI project in your current work
==============================

Find a problem statement in your current work that can be solved using AI and will deliver some value. Work on this during your extra hours, then showcase it to your management to get official approval to make it a full-fledged project.

3. Collaborate with the AI team in your company for inner sourcing
================================================

Many companies have the concept of inner sourcing where, say, an AI team is too busy and has a list of tasks they have opened on their GitHub repository that others can work on. Use this as an opportunity to do some real AI work and build rapport with the AI team.

4. Attend AI conferences
==================

By attending AI conferences, you will not only learn but also build a network with AI professionals who will help you in your AI career journey.

5. Attend an AI bootcamp at a university or online learning company
=================================================

If you have time and money, consider attending a short-term (e.g., 6 months) bootcamp at a university or through an online learning company. Self-paced learning and in-person learning have their pros and cons. Decide which one works best for you.

The balance you need to succeed in today's scenario 👇🏽

Wonder why?

It's an easier choice for people to label themselves as a 'Management person' or a 'Tech Person' & conveniently ignore what's happening on the other side of the world. This model does not work anymore as tech & business have found ways to work together seamlessly. With AI this will happen even faster and it needs people to adopt to this change.

For example:

If you are a tech person: Don't build or work on a dashboard without knowing how it is used in business

If you are a management person: Don't use that dashboard blindly to make decisions without knowing its tech basics
