Why is dating EFFORTLESS for some, but IMPOSSIBLE for others?

One word...

MOMENTUM.

Dating is all about momentum since we all know that confidence is king in dating.

If you're going on dates, things are going well, and are confident then you can approach dating from a place of abundance...

Since you're probably in the "Positive Feedback Loop" cycle:
- Go on date (Action)
- Date goes well (Positive Result)
- Feel good (Confidence)
- Motivated to go on more dates (Rinse & Repeat)

On the contrary, if you have absolutely ZERO momentum, the opposite effect is true.

You might get a lucky first date here and there, but for whatever reason you can't land a second date.

You've tried wearing different outfits, taking girls to different places, and even buying different cologne but nothing.

This is because girls are very perceptive.. if a guy is confident and easygoing then she will feel more comfortable.

However, if a guy seems needy and desperate, she can smell that shit from a mile away.

Nothing reeks more than desperation when it comes to dating.

Trust me guys, I know from first hand experience...

I used to be THAT guy who would go on a bunch of first dates but absolutely ZERO second dates.

Every date I went on, I REALLY wanted it to work out because I had the mindset that finding a girlfriend would automatically make me happy.

In turn, this made me extremely outcome dependent and radiate needy, "nice guy" energy.

I tried to be super nice on the date since I thought that was my best chance at getting a girl to like me.

I would play it safe, stick to surface level topics (work, location), and wouldn't talk about my real hobbies (bodybuilding, content creation) in fear of being judged.

Fortunately, a few years ago I decided to take drastic action to lose weight, get rid of my acne, and fix my style.

While those changes helped, the biggest game changer for me was finding my "wolf pack" or group of like-minded Asian guys.

As someone who used to be white washed for the first 25 years of my life, I thought that Asian guys couldn't get attractive girls.

In turn, I would hide my Asian identity and try to assimilate to American culture.

However, once I found my wolf pack, I found myself being proud of my Asian heritage and really leaning into this.

I also started talking about my actual hobbies such as lifting, ping pong, and even content creation.

Thinking girls would judge and automatically discount me for having niche hobbies, I was surprised when girls found it interesting and dates would actually go well.

Ironically, my dating life was the BEST when I put the LEAST amount of effort into it.

Contrast that to my needy dark times back in 2018...

When I was going on multiple first dates a week and close to no second dates.

So what's this mean for you guys?

Well the KEY TAKEAWAY here is to surround yourself with guys who will build you up.

Take inventory of your current close friends...

If they are the "crab in the bucket" type who keep you stuck and prevent you from leveling up...

Well you plain and simply gotta make new friends.
(if you wanna start getting results with dating)

Trust me, I used to have friends that were like this...

And the only way for me to really level up in all aspects of my life was to leave these friends behind.

Guys who had a fixed mindset and just wanted to party and drink all day.

And I know it's a tough decision, but you gotta remember one step backwards, two steps forward.

Talk soon.

🏠 AUGUST CHANG RETREAT 🏠

***ONE SPOT LEFT***

One spot just opened back up for the next Chang retreat at the end of August.

This is a perfect opportunity to take action if...

You've been looking for a chance to really level up your dating life and network with guys on a similar wavelength.

It's very common for guys to be stuck with their dating life for a number of reason:
- Lack of leads (no matches from online dating, getting rejected in real life)
- No second dates (going on first dates but no second dates)
- No idea what to do (just plain and simply not having any clue where to start)

And this is totally normal, I mean there's no school for dating.

It's not like we all get a Bachelor's Dgree in Dating & Relationship right? (cringe joke lol)

That's exactly why I believe in the power of the retreat concept as it's the fastest way to streamline the process.

Coaching and mentorship is proven to skyrocket learning in any setting which is why...

You will take more action in 72 hours than you would for the next few years on your own.

You will also be part of a cohort of growth-minded guys, under the guidance of experienced coaches and mentors.

And you don't have to believe my words, here's what past retreat members have to say:

So if you're looking to join my wolf pack and make a difference in your dating life, apply today:

πŸ‘²πŸ» MET UP WITH A LONG-TIME SUBSCRIBER πŸ‘²πŸ»

Was just in LA this past weekend and actually chose a lucky subscriber to meet-up with in person!

As you guys know, I posted about a free meet-up a few weeks ago...

Well I decided to actually select one person out of the many applicants for a free 1:1 coaching session 🀝

Our lucky winner was... Tom!

Tom started following me three years ago back in 2021 and actually found me on Tik Tok.

It was an awesome getting to meet Tom and coach him for a few hours (vlog coming soon).

We spent the day talking about his current situation...

He just graduated college with an engineering degree, job hunting, and is living at home...

Tbh, he had a bit of a defeatist mindset upon first meeting me...

He had a lot of negative self-talk and self-limiting beliefs...

But I could quickly instantly tell that this guy was chill and had a lot of potential...

He just wasn't taking consistent action in his life.

From applying to jobs...

Hanging out with friends...

And even in his dating life...

He had the "stats" and connections, but just wasn't implementing in real life...

Consequentially, he was falling into a negative feedback loop which led to self-limiting beliefs.

"I'm such a loser because ______"

"Why would any girl want to go out with me since _______"

However, while I was hanging out with Tom and giving him some free coaching and advice...

I could tell that in just a few hours of hanging out with me, he started to realize his own potential.

He even messaged a girl from school that was showing him interest but he just never reached out with... pending boba date πŸ‘€

The key takeaways for Tom were:
- Create a daily action item checklist
- Eliminate negative self-talk
- Take initiative when it comes to reaching out to dating and friends

On that last point, I feel like a lot of people think that others will just automatically reach out to them.. and if they don't then that makes them automatically a loser.

But the truth is, everyone has shit going on in their lives, if you don't take initiative to invite people to grab food or do things, why would they do the same for you?

So I want to challenge everyone to take initiative beyond just dating and invite one friend out to eat.. or even better, create a small meet-up amongst your friends where you can connect like-minded friends.

It's the easiest way to be a value giver and it's also a fun way to catch-up with friends.

And if you're looking to take action and work with me in-person, I still have a couple spots left for the July Mini-Retreat coming up at the end of this month:

πŸ‘²πŸ» CHANG RETREAT MEET-UP πŸ‘²πŸ»

First time going out in LA with the boys!

Was super fun meeting up with a June retreat alumni and one of the boys coming through to the August retreat.

This is what Chang Nation is all about, being able to go to a city and connecting with cool guys.

I honestly had a really fun night checking out K-town for the first time in my life because of this group.

Super grateful that I'm able to do what I do today, hosting retreat, helping guys become the best version of themselves, and building out a network of cool Asian guys.

Learn more about Chang Retreat here:
changnation.com/retreat

Next retreat is in September (August retreat full), be sure to apply early if interested:

Looking for an opportunity to work with me before then? Apply for the July Mini Retreat:
hgjuwru1lcj.typeform.com/to/k8MhGgWu

The July mini retreat is a smaller version of Chang Retreat (2-3 guys) with more 1:1 time dedicated to each of the students. This is better for guys who still want the retreat experience but also looking to get more focused coaching from me and my team.

🏠 AUGUST CHANG RETREAT 🏠

***SOLD OUT***

The August retreat is officially sold out!

Super grateful for the opportunity to continue hosting in-person self-improvement retreats where I'm able to meet cool Asian guys from across the continent (US & Canada) who are all hungry to level up through action.

The reason I'm so passionate about hosting retreats is because I wish something like this existed when I was starting out on my own self-improvement journey 10 years ago...

I could've saved countless time, effort, and money while avoiding endless rejections if I had mentors and a wolf pack to support me in my journey.

The truth is.. self-improvement is actually really simple...

The hardest part of the whole journey is believing in yourself.

Sounds simple right?

Well not really.. the reality is, the only way to develop TRUE inner confidence is...

By getting real world success.

Fitness -> get jacked.

Dating -> attract girls.

Making friends -> have people like you.

There's no shortcut around real-world results.

That's why I believe in the confidence feedback: take action -> success -> develop confidence -> rinse & repeat.

This is also exactly why I set my retreats up to be an intense, 72 hour weekend that will set you up to rack up these real-world wins.

The retreat is packed with a full itinerary of activities, presentations, workshops, and more!

Super excited for this August cohort as we have another epic group with guys from business, tech, and start-ups.

We even have a full-time crypto trader (who is currently prepping for his first bodybuilding show) joining this one 🐸

***FUTURE EVENTS***

If you're someone who wants to improve your results with fitness, dating, or self-improvement but missed the sign-up for the August retreat, here are some upcoming events:

- July Mini Retreat (potentially)
- October Retreat
- November Retreat (tentative)

The mini retreat is essentially a smaller version of a retreat which has more emphasis on the coaching aspect given the smaller group size.

July Mini Retreat Application: hgjuwru1lcj.typeform.com/to/k8MhGgWu

October Retreat Application: hgjuwru1lcj.typeform.com/to/QtX0h1uE

Just reached 10k subs! Really appreciate the support from everyone πŸ™

This YouTube channel has come a long way since my humble beginnings documenting my bodybuilding journey to now creating self-improvement content for Asian guys.

Creating this type of content has not only given my life newfound purpose, but it has also given me the opportunity to meet so many cool people over the years through online coaching, in-person retreats, and over the internet.

I've trained over 80+ guys online, hosted three in-person retreats (with 16 Asian guys), and connected with a handful of people online all thanks to this YouTube channel.

Not only that, but building out Chang Nation has given me the confidence to share my story.

Growing up as an introverted Asian kid, I was raised to keep my head down, not make a noise about anything, and just do the work...

This taught me that I shouldn't talk about myself...

I mean people probably don't care what I have to say right?

This couldn't be further from the truth.

Each of us has unique stories to share, strengths to showcase, and value to offer the world.

This was a lesson I've learned slowly over the past four years.

Through grinding videos out on a consistent basis, I was able to develop confidence in myself to tell my story.

My success.. my failures.. epic moments.. funny stories..

But most importantly paradigm shifting experiences.. things that happened to me that shattered any self-limiting beliefs I've had.

Slowly but surely, I've been able to create content to serve as that Asian big brother I wish I had when I was younger...

That Asian big brother that would've saved me from countless rejections and embarrassing moments.

Now looking back, it's kinda crazy I've uploaded so many videos since the truth is...

YouTube is a pretty thankless job.. it's the very definition of "delayed gratification".

You upload content to the abyss of the internet.. hoping that people click on it, watch it, and get something out of it.

And the fact that my small YouTube channel has helped countless Asian guys realize their own potential and discover their inner Chang shows me the power of Chang Nation.

And that my story is enough to share with the world.

Since the truth is.. one action, one connection, one experience can change the course of your life.

Which is exactly why I'm such a big advocate of taking action each and every day to level up.

Since you never know how one small action can create a ripple effect that changes your life.

How I'm getting LEAN this summer πŸ’ͺ

Starting 8-week cut in preparation for the August Chang Retreat (still two spots left), here's my plan:

Current weight: 167 lbs
Target weight: 155 lbs

Delta: 12 lbs
Target Weekly Rate of Loss (ROL): 1.5 lbs / week

Before I dive into my strategy, here's a must-know equations:
- Calories in < calories out = caloric deficit = weight loss
- Calorific deficit + adequate protein intake + weight training = fat loss

Basically, you must eat less calories or move around more (aka walk or do cardio) while lifting consistently and eating enough protein.

***GAME PLAN***

Calories In 🍚
- Tracking all of my calories (using MyFitnessPal)
- Starting macros ~2k calories (45% carbs / 25% fat / 30% protein)
- Will decrease calories if I plateau (but plan on increasing cardio / steps first)

Calories Out πŸ‘£
- 10k steps per day (will ramp this up as needed)
- Play sports for cardio (table tennis)
- Mainly looking to leverage steps / table tennis to drive caloric deficit

Protein Intake πŸ₯©
- Aiming for ~1 g / lb of BW (currently: 168 lbs)
- General guidelines for cutting are: 0.8 - 1.1 g / lb of bodyweight
- Protein is a good macronutrient to prioritize b/c it keeps you full + TEF (Thermic Effect of Food)

A few other tips:
- Track your daily weigh-in (AM after you pee)
- Take weekly progress pictures
- Monitor your workouts (implement progressive overload)
- If your weight is stalling, decreasing calories or increase steps / cardio
- If you're still not losing weight, you might be overestimating calories (start weighing out all your food)

Remember guys, losing fat is actually very simple...

As long as you follow the equation of calories in < calories out, you WILL lose weight.

Building muscle is the harder part of the equation so assuming you've bulked properly...

Let's cut together this summer and reap the fruits of our hard labor in the iron temple πŸš€

Talk soon.
