You may have noticed I took a break from YouTube these last two months. It was the first time since I started uploading weekly back in December 2018 and was really needed. I've been so busy with a few other amazing opportunities that have come up recently and needed to avoid burning myself out. Here's my first one back:
A few of you that have been around for a while might remember that I had really started putting the work in on this channel while I was playing in theater bands on cruise ships. When I signed off the Queen Mary in February 2020, I said my goodbyes to the industry and wanted to focus on becoming an entirely self-employed musician. I took auditions for a Master's program and yesterday I wrapped up my degree. I'm looking forward to putting more time back into this channel and am so thankful for the community here that has supported me during the last two years.
First on my agenda is putting out an update I've been working on for a long time to my large Helix library. The Premium Amp tone bundles also have an update on the way - a few small changes I've made as I've gotten to put them to use in different venues, and versions for people who would prefer to use snapshots. I will also have a few new acoustic and cabinet IR bundles out by the end of the Summer.
Today Iām with the Johnstown Symphony - performing at the Flight 93 memorial in Somerset, PA in honor of the 20th anniversary of September 11th. Livestream - www.facebook.com/Flight93NPS/videos/80226261044793ā¦
I had the honor of sitting in on this session and handling the mixing process later on. Fantastic music as always from Max Gall.

Oops... I just realized I released two videos that weren't entirely ready yesterday. Here's what it should've been:
And on a related note: Is anyone enjoying the guitar string series? Any particular sets I should get ahold of to demo?
I've been picking up a lot of recording work lately and some new personal projects I'm taking on so the videos might slow down just a tad. For the last two years I've been uploading two videos a week and I think I'm going to drop down to just one for a while. See you Saturdays at 10am EST!
Hi all - no video this morning unfortunately as I've just been swamped with work this week. Here's a video I put out a little while back that I feel like didn't get the attention it deserved. These are modeling microphones, and they're great fun. Learn how they work:
I got together with my good friend (and one of my favorite artists) Max Gall a few weeks ago to lay down some of his original material. Give him a sub! He deserves it.
I'm really happy to finally have this EP out. Ambient music for peaceful existence from The Inner Urge - bit.ly/3vEM9mS
Alex Price is a multi-instrumentalist, composer/arranger, and audio engineer. He can be found performing across the western Pennsylvania region in various symphonies, jazz groups, and pop ensembles. Prior to returning to work in the United States, he had spent years performing internationally in theaters onboard cruise ships, most notably the world famous ocean liner, the Cunard Queen Mary 2. A proficient sight reader and improviser, Alex has found work in a wide variety of genres ranging from jazz and classical to rock and gospel. Recently, he licensed music to a few films, including Mona Lisa and the Blood Moon. Alex is an enthusiastic skier and lives with his wife and cats in Johnstown, PA.
